Yeh, the vacuum when connected does it at idle and part throttle - but i would have thought that if you fix it at full advance the maxium would be too much... Wierd.

So as yours is fixed at maximum vacuum at all times, you're getting 10d BTDC at idle, and a maximum of 32?

ye around there but when i adjust the timing on the rollers will prob be idleing at around 20 but then u have to run special fuel to stop pinking but it brings more performance

are you going to limit your maximum advance with that distributer then?

  • Author

no just leave her advance up herself it will only go so far and the engine and fuleing system will be setup to take it but for people running standard you can retard it back down to standard settings by adjusting the timing so it works well

wa wheels u gt hywel?

  • Author

they are a golf 15" wheel I also have some sebrings but as for nice looking rally wheels i dont have any as i will only break them lol.

Heg, what dampers are you planning on using in the woods?

I'm having problems destroying mine on whites on road rallies and need something beefier.

(I'm running 200lb 21/4 springs, nylon'd front end and AVO adj dampers.)

the set up i had on my road rally car and never gave me any trouble this is what it was as I'm not running this car in the woods only on tarmac stages.

front was koni yellow adjustable shocks set to hardesd with golf mk2 gti front springs with one ring cut off. worked a treat it had nylon outer tca bushes and standard inner tca bushes and standart arb mount bushes with standard top mounts and it handles like a dream still got the car.

rear kyb gold shocks with gt springs.

hope this helps

ithanks for the info, its nice to hear what setup people are using cause if anyone is going to test them properly its the likes of you guys who rally them

i ran avos for a bit, they're rubbish! i bought bilstein B6s and they are a league apart from avos. also, why are you running 200lb springs for road rallies? thats far too hard.

Did you ever figure out the castor / camber settings in then end?
