they are golf mk2 gti rear brakes.

I just added the strengthening bars where I needed them to be as I could see from my previous beams where I had bent them.

with the rear axel do you just need pretty much everything off the back axel?

yep everything off the golf mk2 gti mine came of an 8v. I havnt looked at the piping or the handbrake bet

but will let you know.

If you have a choice, use the calipers from a late mk2 or mk3. They have internal return springs and don't seize, where as the ones in the pictures are renown for going solid.

ok will look out for some but these wher sayt out side in the rain not used for 4 years and hadnt seized so I just overhauld these and they are moving nice.

Mk4 Golf calipers are similar/the same mounting I think? But aluminium...

how do the rear callipers and disks sit on the beam is there any custom mounting or?

mk4s fit straight on to the mk2 carriers, I'm unsure if the mk4 carriers fit straight on as well tho? you can get braided hoses for the rears only from tsr performance... deffo worth the upgrade...

as for fitting, i believe you just need mk2 16v stub axles, wheel bearings of a mk2 16v too and a rocco 16v handy b cable (not sure if you can use these on the polo or if you have to modify your exisiting ones?)

Today I have been making my light weight perspex windows.

I'm happy with how they have turned out

they look pretty cool! how long did it take to make the driver side window? was it difficult?

they look BLOODY good to me

I was given the sliding kit so all I had to do was cut the window to size drill and bolt. but to make all the took from 11am till 6.30 pm with a lunch break.

Are they really acrylic or are they polycarbonate?

They are whatever it states in the blue book that I need for rallying. thats what I orderd anyway.

yes i did think of it and wanted to do it but I would have had to buy another sheet to get them in and didnt want to so the quater lights fitted in off cuts.

over the last week I've been flat out working on the car I've finished the seam

welding and strengthening to the shell also put the seat bars in to msa spec and made

my roll cage go up to the stut tops.

As I have a bolt in cage that is worth so much these days I didnt want to weld anything

to it so I came up with this design used from some parts of an old roll cage I had.

the shell is going to be sandblasted on sunday weather permitting and then she will

be paited in undercoat
