what size did you change the carb jets to??

I had the carbs set up by bogg bros in yorkshire and they made the manifold for the carbs and that was £275 posted

the exhaust manifold was from phil j and was £160 posted.

as for the jets bogg bross did it so sorry I aint got a clue.

Looks like your exhaust manifold is a 6n manifold, at least when you compare the 86c manifold and the 6N one on Superspint.com. How does it fit around the arb area and oil sump? Does it connect easily to the 86c exhaust?

yep its the 6n exhaust it fits fine its close to the anti roll bar but as I'm pulling that forward by 15mm it clears it.

as for sitting a mk2 exhaust system i dont know as I will be making my own system.

this weekens was taken up with removing an axle from the chevette so not much work done on the polo but started on the bias pedal box and fixing the seats and hydraulic handbrake.

Suede Steering Wheel and carbon dash would looks the nuts with your setup

I've got the steering wheel but as for the dash I cant afford that haha.

I'm afraid not I love polo handeling with a few tweeks. lol

I loved how my old one handeled but this will have better suspension.

some progress this weekend.

made the holder for the vertical handbrake and welded it in

made the master cylinder bulkhead mod

cut bulkhead to hit the bias bedal box in

then weld it all up in place

side exit through sill same as was on blondie the pipe will be cut back to suit the beg arch when fitted

then time for underocat again

good news is the car should be in paint by next weekens and ready for the put back together stage

bad news is there wont be time to build the engine before the 1st rally so it will be running a standard afh

on bike carbs for that then a rebuild after.

Looking good. I know what you mean about polo suspension. It's not the must advanced thing on the planet by a long way, but when you're used to it and know how to control it, there's definatly something about it's directness.

i love the way my car handles and its even better now with new standard rubbers and wisbone. so much fun

£17 each for wishbones with bushes what a bargin!!!!!

and new anti roll bar bushes.....just feels great now, well worth the purchase

I run with nylon bushes on the front and my sumpguard stops the car flexing so my front is a pretty stiff setup and it works well.

Might sound like a dumb question but what is the pipe sticking out the side for?

For the exhaust pipe to sit in to, to stop damage maybe?

as on most side exits they come out under the sill and when I did that back in 2004 I knocked it off so I did the same to blondie cut the sill away an rebuild it with a pipe in so the exhaust can sit in it to protect it and I never knocked it off again.

So I've done the same again and as it says futher up this will be cut back to suit the berg arch.
