MK4 POLO SMOOTH BAY 16V ON CARBS

Featured Replies

Very nice mate!

i see a very nice orange mk4 polo the other day in that kind of vibrant tone, really looked the part!

Do you have a finish date in mind yet for this?

Yeh i know what you meanabout half of it ending in the bin ect! I have only just learnt the technique of building up thin layers of filler and shaping it properly ect. saves so much time aswell as money!

i will deffinately be keeping a eye in here!

  • i know what you mean with the filler mate i do it myself, i tend to do it more when weather is a bit cold so it goes off quicker but i hate it when your just in the middle of a skim and it sets it pis

  • Can't wait to see it once you've got it all finished, paint job looks brilliant you've certainly got skills, are you bringing it to the Polo Show

isnt it illegal not to have side repeaters?

not if you can see your front ones clearly from the side, already asked about that one

I'm affraid with ure new headlights u cant.. u can only see a reflection which is a mot fail.

HELPFUL EDIT..

know this as I've no side repeaters n same headlights. I've re run wire under my bonnet n connected motorbike side repeaters. mot time i just tape them on the side of my wing with electrical tape. justa heads up 4 you....

Hmm if i were you, dont completely smooth the boot or you will lose definition... Why not keep just the VW symbol, but relocate it? The chrome will look awesome against the baby blue. Respect to you mate - not my choice of colour, but I'm sure it will work well.

i like to hear peoples comments and ideas but boot is getting fully smoothed i just love the smooth look the smoother the better, no badges and no trim looks so clean and nice, thanx for the comments tho mate like to see people taking interest.

the baby blue was always a fav coz i haven't seen a mk4 polo in it before plus with all the black parts such as front and back lights handles grill and wheels i think it will be a good contrast against the blue, breaking the car down into two colours and not making it too ott.

well we will see what the final out come will look like just looking forward to its completion.

hope to be up there at the show and shine some day would be nice i have had some great feedback from all you guys and i will let you all see it once its done hope you all will like it thanx gals and guys.

Looks like you've got some great idea's mate, can't wait to see it finished!

nice :-D

Wow, looking forward to seeing this one finished mate!! Nice work so far!! Hope your painting the engine bay too but to get rid of the traces of its original colour?!

the engine bay isn't getting sprayed at the mo mate because i haven't got the know how about engines and haven't got the tools to do it, when i get the car done i'm taking it to a body shop to get sprayed in matt black so it will be done at some point just not straight away.

LOVE this thread!!!

its inspirational.

wish i was this talented, I've always wanted to do something like this.

Good luck, keep us posted.

cant wait to see the end result.
