  • Shes back in at last sooo happy with how she looks :) hope this pleases a few people lol

  • i know what you mean with the filler mate i do it myself, i tend to do it more when weather is a bit cold so it goes off quicker but i hate it when your just in the middle of a skim and it sets it pis

  • Can't wait to see it once you've got it all finished, paint job looks brilliant you've certainly got skills, are you bringing it to the Polo Show

yeah i had the same thought about smoothing the bay no other 6n has it, great minds think alike lol

the bay is going to be blue same as the car engine bottom end will be painted blue and the rest chromed and polished.

good progress on yours mate looking good so far

Sounds good man. I'm doing the bay a bright pink, satin black engine and box (possibly copper plate the box in the future) and polished rocker.

I'd be finished a long time ago only I'm building a Nova for my missus too altho she's doing as much to my bay as I am. Your also doing alot more smoothing than me. What are you doing with the wiper mechanism etc as it'll be on show?

I was gona run my wires in the chassis legs but being a daily driver I didn't fancy it. What you doing with yours?

alright conner your plans sound good mate should look cool i defo love the copper plate gear box saw it in a jetta in pvw looked ace.

my wiper motor will be on display but will be chrome so should look cool. most of my wiring is going down the chassis leg but power cables are going to the boot as i'm relocating batt there also wash bottle will be in boot too.

i have nearly finished the filler work just got to take my dash out to weld the rest of the bulkhead up and fill then its onto the stopper, filling all the little tiny inperfections in the filler like pin holes, once thats done a nice coat of etch primer and high build primer can be put on.

smoothed other chassis leg today got bulkhead to do yet and then the filler work is finished, so looking good so far making good ground, i'm happy.

yeah i'll be there but not in the polo i'll be in my audi a4 i think

looking nice...be interesting to see who finishes first...you or mccann since hes doing the exact same thing too his car right at the same time lol

Fuck me I'm only seeing this thread now.

I'd never came across another 6N with a smoothed bay and thought I'd be different and do it. Can't believe after that myself and someone else are doing it with the same engine and carbs on it lmao.

Looks really well. What colour you doing the bay?

*edit* just read back, we started round the same time too :p I can't believe I haven't seen this til now. lol

Simply stunning - this car really is setting the standard for mk4's

Once the bay is finished and the engine is in you need some serious wheels to top the car off.

Something split, perfect size with colour coded centres. Get on ebay.de and buy something really tasty :-) Or colour coded TH mono as that would just look crazy :-)

Awesome work!!

i agree with the wheels, need something to finish this off. Phenomenal time and effort. love it mate! :)
