  • i know what you mean with the filler mate i do it myself, i tend to do it more when weather is a bit cold so it goes off quicker but i hate it when your just in the middle of a skim and it sets it pis

  • Can't wait to see it once you've got it all finished, paint job looks brilliant you've certainly got skills, are you bringing it to the Polo Show

MOST AMAZING THING EVER!

SICK!

keep it up! cant wait to see this finished#!

this build is pretty sick man kudos on all the work you have done :), can i just ask is a mk5 boot hard to fit on a mk4 polo id like to do that to mine and it looks rather good :) Thanks and good luck with this build man

i love this thread i love your work, time and effort you have put in. amzing cant wait to see this finished , also 3 hours 2 clean and polish your head thats quick :)

absolutly love the bay. would love a smoothed bay. credit to your time and skills. one small critisism about the head.... only a little one. are you getting all the galleries cleaned out as i can see a good bit of crud in there. after all this it would be a shame to not do little details like that. :)

cheers guys.

Thats the beauty of a dremal it speeds up the cleaning process with the right attachment lol 3 hours was pretty quick but my face was black looked like i had just cleaned a coal bunker out lol.

the water jackets will be getting cleaned when it gets skimmed and pressure tested they clean the full head.

the 6n2 tailgate fits straight on but doesn't line up with the little bit of body under the lights, as you will know on the 6n it has a swage line that runs right accross the back end but the 6n2 don't have that so it needs building out slightly, you can see what i did on my thread dunno what page tho lol.

just found it on page 3, i also have mk5 6n2 rear lights as the 6n lights sit about 5mm under the tailgate.

i wish i could go to those extremes. i just have to put up with wire files and air lines to clean heads. :( how much is pressure testing and cleaning anyways out of curiosity?

it used to be about 50 smacker but think its gone up now to about 70 so i have been told and it may depend on where you take it.

thats including a skim at 20bucks is it? not too bad. out of curiosity what filler did you use in the bay?

its a filler called ultimate plastic padding you can get it in halfords its £10 its in a small yellow tub, its got a flexible additive in it that stops it cracking on bumpers and other plastic parts that flex.

its really good stuff i used it on my old front bumper and i bottomed out doing 70 and smashed my splitter off my car, fooked the bumper at the bottom but the grilles i smoothed over was fine no cracks, nothing.

thanks mate, i might get a 6n2 tailgate i want the 3rd brake light aswell mainly the reason i want to get it only problem is moving the numberplate but will look good, not sure where to put my plate yet but dont want to make my car look too modified!!!!

halfords own or upol? suppose the struts etc would flex etc.
