With the new brown exterior plans are you still going to have a baby blue engine block? I hope so otherwise i can see the finished article being even further away. The work is epic but i want to see this finished lol :-)

nice work mike. i havnt got near mine with my dissertation and final year uni etc. Just back from Worthersee so I'm well in the mood for starting back to mine

not too far off the first stages of paint now should be weekend if all goes well

heres some shot of what i've been doing to the car

rear panel had some rust, only minor tho so been sorting that.

had some trouble welding the joint were the sill and rear quater join, i had to cut a section out the sill and make a fresh new bit. welded that in and filled it.

abit of work under the rear light needs doing still.

so after a long hard week and weekend of working on the polo i eventually got the car in primer i also did a tester of the colour........ hope you like........ i know i do, ALOT :) :)

how do you paint int he garage with that little room lol, when i did my repsray in my garage i had just a little more room that that in places and i struggled

to be honest its not that much of a struggle to paint it in the garage, its tight don't get me wrong but i manage lol case of having to i guess :) i'm really pleased with the colour outcome its better than i thought i'm just so eager to do the whole car now :)

can i ask what rear discs have you used mk2 golf or 6n2 gti ?

the camber schims have a slight angle to them and if you put the thickest end to the bottom and thinest to top you gain camber but beware it also puts your toe out by quite alot.

if you get some of these schims they come with a guide that tells you how much camber and what toe then you find the number it relates to and set that to the top.

Camber plates shouldn't put your toe out at all installed correctly.

The trick is ensuring that the plates are put in so that the thinnest part is at '12 o'clock' when the rear beam is under load i.e. when the car is resting on the wheels.

Most people make the mistake of installing the shims at '12 o'clock' when the rear beam is hanging [car raised from floor] and so the shims are pointing forwards when the car is dropped onto the wheels, thereby changing the rear toe.
