  • i know what you mean with the filler mate i do it myself, i tend to do it more when weather is a bit cold so it goes off quicker but i hate it when your just in the middle of a skim and it sets it pis

  • Can't wait to see it once you've got it all finished, paint job looks brilliant you've certainly got skills, are you bringing it to the Polo Show

Your not kidding there wide lol . Looks sweet as mate . Dave

B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L =D such a good build thread and becoming such a piece of art!!

the polished steering rack and everything =D just wish you could get it sprayed, as surely once youve got it in paint then it should be just a case of re-building most of it now??

  • Author

yeah once its painted it should go together quite quickly but its the engine that needs the most work and time spending on it just need a lupo sport or 16v gearbox :) if anyone knows of a cheap one going somewhere then let us know

I have missed seeing new pictures of this! So glad you are back on the build. I almost want to take my valver box out and give you it just so you can get it finished quicker!

well another step forward :) starting to look like a car again, really happy with the progress today.

top fill rad FTW...nice to see you back on the job with this...hope the job search is going ok too.

could you not fit a slimline fan to that rad?? the factory one just looks bulky and grimy

  • Author

yeah might have to yet depends on where the engine sits. i quite like the fan and housing though coz it has an old skool look to it.

That's alot of work but looks sweet as , do think the top fill rad would look the bollocks in that mega clean bay tho bud . Dave

  • Author

to be honest it was rather straight forward and didn't really take that long.

ignore the rust on the fan housing its gunna be shot blasted and powder coated

That's cool mate , the fan housing looks like my old mk2 golf one , what colour you doing it ? Dave

dunno i might just get it done in black powder coat or cream like the bay

Sounds good mine was polished . Think black would go well with your bay , break it up a bit . Dave

Mike, I've hidden all my rad, and fan infront od the front pannel leaving nothing visable inside the bay- Food for thought possibly? It was a bitch to bleed but it's in and running sweet now,
