  • i know what you mean with the filler mate i do it myself, i tend to do it more when weather is a bit cold so it goes off quicker but i hate it when your just in the middle of a skim and it sets it pis

So looking forward to seeing this back together!

If the engine is anything to go by, the rest of the car will amaze us all.

The attention to detail is f**king amazing

what engine oil do you guys regard as the best?

synta-oil-10w40-5litre-99-p[ekm]251x300[
  • Author

is it good for cleaning and lubricating the engine?

Its what vw use so should be ok....

regular oil changes is the best for that though.. no matter what oil you use

like every 3-4k

  • Author

yeah it will be getting regular oil changes but just want a good oil to keep the engine nice, it has a lot of new parts in the engine so need to look after it

I've just done a rebuild on my engine and have been advised to use mineral oil for the first 500 miles to help run the engine in and then to switch back to VW oil

  • Author

yeah this is what i was thinking about, if the engine needs to be ran in with certain oil what would be the best for doing this

I spoke with a guy at VW Enterprise who recomended this to me

http://www.gsfcarparts.com/980aa1571

but mines for a 1.8T engine so not sure if the numbers on the oil make much difference?
