Painting......which kit to get?

Guys,

I'm thinking of getting a kit so that I can paint my car (after lots and lots of practice of course) but need to know exactly what to get. I've searched the net but its all pretty 'in depth' for me and thought one of you would be able to explain it in real terms?

I'm quite keen to learn to spray using the 'proper' gear rather than just rattle cans - its a project that I'm in no rush to finish you seen (hobby) and quite like the idea of being able to paint parts as and when I need to.

Anyway, can someone tell me exactly what I need to get started with? What compressor, type, make, power, etc, etc? Which gun...again, type, size, etc, etc? Any other bits that I'm going to need? I have seen this on Ebay and wonder if this would be a good start for a beginner......THIS? Would this be sufficient to spray smaller areas at different times...rather than the whole car in one go? Would it also be ok to do the car in one go?

Also, what about paints? Types, volume (enough to spray a car), thinkness - does it need to be thinned, etc, etc?

As much info as possible would be greatly appreciated although please dumb it down a bit as I don't know an aweful lot about this kinda thing. I know the obvious about preperation, preperation, preperation but its what to do after the prep that I need help on.
