Yeah sorry i had to chop it up, lots were used for other bits and practically my car is now a mk3 with a mk2 shell lol

yeh i still got the mk4, spent more time fixing it than anything else though at the moment. it's these country roads/animals- they're always screwing me over! couple of weeks ago i reckoned everything on the car was pretty much perfect... then coming home from work i hit a badger which took my front splitter off, smashed in the lower grilles and knocked my exhaust outta place!

anyways, as i said it looks really good, enjoy the extra power and that coveted 5th gear!

well the new cars werent bulit like the old ones, the mk3 wasnt easy to brake up u know, the lads had a trouble with getting a few things off lol.. including the front bumper, i got whacked in the shins with a crowbar that slipped out of the bumper wen my dad tried to wedge it off haha!!

Ah well its all fun and games with dubs hehe, hope u get you are olop sorted and might see u at some shows next year?!?

shame about teh mk3 but it did lok fubared and the bay area loks alot better after its spruce up

2008 will see the beige beast with a different engine, management, turbo etc etc. Hoping for around 220-230bhp with a decent amount of torque as well.

Makes me smile everytime i drive that car :-D

Ok a much deserved update now!!

As u guys know, it didnt have a servo and my dad being all proper and such said it must have one, so...

we cracked out the grinder and welder friday and this is what happened!!

and tomoz dad is cleaning it all and filling it with lots and lots of sealer and hopefully painting it too. Then the pedal box can go back in and pretty much everything else, just got to put the new clutch and cam belt then the engine is set, recover the loom coz its skank, put the gt front suspension on and secure the fuel pump!!!

will get the pics up of wen its all done, fingers crossed its sooooon :-D

welding in a servo. you lot are from crazy town.

It really is a conversion in all senses, always seems like total carnage at first. I can think of the smell o vision having worked round battery tray myself :) oh the smell of burning paint.

Get plenty seem sealer in there and watch the windscreen with the flying shards of steel that can bond into glass!

I would mask the screen off.

I knew my dad wasnt the only plonker to do the conversion, did u have much trouble lining all the pieces up??

its nuts how much they changed the mk3 just for the servo isnt it! The pedals are different, the steering set up..... loads!!

And that little bracket that holds in the steering rack, did u have to cut that down for the servo to fit in???

Yeah I've done a few battery trays in other polos already so the windscreen is safe,b the amount of sealer i had to scrape off all the sections did my wrist in and just so happens a mate of mine has got hold of some for me (ta for that Tim) so that will be going in on wednesday....

and as for the car being safe after all this cutting n welding, my dad is funny about things being right and safe if I'm driving it so he knows what he is doing... thank god lol

AS the mk2 needed the Mk3 brake servo mount & pedal box mounts.

Haha i didnt just fix the rust, that was there by chance and was easier to fix while putting in the whole servo!!

Woop its looking good, my dad has done an amazing job if i do say so myself lol

here it is all painted: (the runs arnt my dads doing)

even had a look at my mates mk3 and the join is even more noticable on hers than this one so I'm chuffed how it has turned out... just need to t-cut the rest of the bay so it looks as fresh as the new paint and its ready for the engine to go back in!

Also did this just b4 we packed up:

The pedal box is in, the steering column and rack are all in and now is the dash, not to come out ever again fingers crossed lol

will update u to what goes on today!! :-D
