i love this car always used to see it at sparsholt college. :-D

Haha yeah man i saw you are gt a few times but didnt see a Clubpolo sticker so didnt think u knew what u were driving lol

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm just disscussing with the man on how to get a bit more go but on the cheap....

Seen a few things on a tuning site, something to do with a mk2 golf air intake thing... wasnt really listening lol and as i cant afford a 4 branch we may try and smooth out my original one, making the flow easier and obviously the pipes will be larger so that will help too

But i will be at No-Rice again this month if anyone has any more ideas on how to increase the power :D

Golf Air Flow Meter, speak to KarlCL Coupe also for mods.......dewedged throttle body etc.....limiter chip's are expensive either.

Personally I would save for a 4 branch too :-p

ermm well... absolutly nothing at all, its completely standard :D

think u will find that the engines will preform better than what the book bhp says, they say 75 as standard just to cover the majority i think

Well i have alot of things to be saving for atm, going to africa in just over a month, got the hornet to restore and of course the shows to go to and on top of that trying to save money for a deposit on a house lol

But i will try :)

Really?? dam that must be a good engine with 20% more power than stated standard.

Mine produced 70bhp at the wheels 88bhp at the fly with a PoloaceChip, Pipercross Induction, 4 branch and full decat exhaust system.

I initially thought the 70bhp on the graphs were the flywheel figures. I'm rather depressed now!!

^^

That ones a bit blury, got to figure out how to use it properly yet lol

Comments welcome :D

GT engines perform better as they wear...

de-cat if you've not got one, makes a HUGE difference top end, chip, exhaust, cam.

i like this alot.

Nice looking pictures on the side before. Cool location.

I've never been a huge fan of mk2 squares, until now.

Needless to say i love it, well done!

cheers guys, really nice comments

well I'm still waiting on the steering boss so no pics of the new wheel...

as soon as the weather picks up and gets warmer the wheels are going to be stripped and relacquered so they will shine properly

and yeah i really want a new exhaust system but moneys are a bit tight atm so am gunna have to wait a while as i have other things on the car to do first

the guy in one of your pics.....guess not ....never mind

i prefer the minilight-esq ones...

Polo looks mint, if i get mine looking anything near what yours looks like ill be happy :D

Btw what size are the catsells (cant spell  )???

15 x 6 dude

and in all honesty, cosmetic wise i havnt done much... just simple stuff, wheels bit of spring cutting, stole golf indicators... and genuine german

ok seen as my fella was home for a couple of weeks for a course from Afghanistan...

He decided to fit my crimbo and birthday presents in the car....

I've only had them for bloody ages....lol

Ok so the Parrot kit was fitted, so i'm now all legal for answerin the phone whilst drivin....

and the steerin wheel is in too.....

Had to remove the collor that sits over the collum on all 90 spec cars..

this involved buyin a ball joint splitter from halfrouds, then moddin it, to make the jaw 25mm wide instead of 18mm...lol

then pullin the collor off...

once removed the collor was cut down to make a spacer, to sit behind the wheel so we will still have the spring fitted on the collum...

then the boss fitted the now small spline collum....

then the boss was too long.....not good...

so we search England for one of those men, that only England has.

He has a shed, with lots of tools and car parts.... and we set him to work.....

DSC_0001.jpg

once it was perfect the boss was released back into our hands....

but then more trouble, there was no where for the horn to make a contact......

so he removed the horn ring and plastic from the old wheel, and went to fit it, only to find the boss now sat too far out.....

Back to the man in the shed for more of this....

DSC_0003.jpg

so now the horn ring sat flush with the bottom of the boss....nice.....

then it was just a case of fittin it all in the car, and centerin it up....

so heres a few helpful steps on how to lower a mk2 polo

Step one: Drive to Hayle near St Ives

DSC01573.jpg

Step two: Find 1x surfer wannabe.....lol

DSC_0051.jpg

Step three: Collect 1x G60 PG engine and pop into the boot...

and then put a 6ft6 army guy in the driving seat and me in the passenger seat and simply drive back to southampton, and try to have tyres left when you arrive....lol

This is amazing, only this week I was considering selling my car, but you have persuaded me otherwise haha. It already looks very similar to mine and this summer I am hoping to remove all dents and rot.

Maybe a GT conversion will be back on the cards for me in the near future too :D.
