ok more stuff has happened lately.

front of the car was cut off.

DSC_0235.jpg

then the parts just swept to one side ready for new parts DSC_0231.jpgDSC_0232.jpg

new front end cut and played with to make fit DSC_0228.jpgDSC_0227.jpg

still needs to be welded in place thou.

few little rust spots found nothing serious thouDSC_0229.jpg

door removed to make way for new one.

DSC_0234.jpg

thats all for now

Gets more and more serious everytime I look at this thread

How come you chopped out the front panel?

  • Author

it got chopped off coz it was a replacement panel when it must have had a crash years back and they did a shite job of it...

the valence itself wasnt covered in stone guard when it was put on so had some really deep rust scars that would have kept coming back so ruined the point of a respray...

and the chassis leg had been whacked and was just filled so went all manky..... plus this one we are putting on is absolutely mint and will last another ten years :)

Looks top, alot of effort gone into it fair play! I would've just bought a new car lol!

Hey, so just spent at least 45mins reading through every page of this thread.. And I really cant wait to see more pics and hear more about whats new with your amazing polo!! It's looking so good.. I'll be watching this space ;)

cool little project, loving the passat estate in pics

Nice work.

DSC_0009-1.jpg

so we're gonna cut it out and put a new bit in..

also the front end is on

DSC_0008-2.jpg

wings are just placed on at the mo, as they need to be dollied..

boot lock removed

DSC_0010-1.jpg

new one sourced and a bracket made up

DSC_0017-1.jpgDSC_0018-1.jpg

1x hole made bigger

DSC_0012-1.jpg

fitted pics later..

thats all for now

This is getting serious!

Good move changing the whole front end, I've had to weld a good foot of mine just under the grill along with other rusty dings. I resorted to stone chipping mine and painting it satin black to hide the blemishes. It looks like a mk2 golf like that (you can unbolt the front on them)

Are you using etch primer on the bare metal? or will it be ok for the respray anyway?

Either way respect and thats a posh garage!

  • Author

filler primer will be used on the whole car, then will be good for paint

the garage is new, put up by me Dad :D

this is wikid, I'm loving the progress, also whos is the a-series!! i want i want!!
