scrap the car. and if you have to drive, get something for £100, dont deserve a car of any value.

HAHA nah i dont want to be a policeman, happy being a building surveyor thanks.

just think it needed saying, before it happens again and someone gets hurt/badly injured/critically injured, disabled or even dead because of someone being so damn irresponsible.

Can't drive...can't do sarcasm...nexxxttttt.

I dont think anyone should even bother trying to tell him that the car is fucked. Leave him to it, I think pretty much everyone has tried to get the point across that with that sort of impact the chasis leg will have been damaged and wont ever be right again.

Carn't help some people.

I just love that people can come on here and argue with members that actually know what they're talking about..and how everyones reply has stated that theres no hope for the car but they beg to differ!

IBTL!

Methinks someone is trolling.

tbh, all it takes is a police officer to read this thread and see your accident, your admitted to dangerous driving with 4 illegal tyres and basically send a warrent out for your arrest. It has been done on other forums....

In my opinion the polo in question isnt worth the hassle of rebuilding. The damage is far too extent and is basically beyond repair. Cut your loses and save for a new one, for a few hundred pounds you will have exactly what you had before.

Oh and coming on an established vw forum, taking criticsism badly and being rude isnt the way to go. Listen to people who are more experienced than you and take in their advice. If you cant take in peoples opinions, dont post.....

I'm pleased you learnt your lesson, next time you may not be so lucky.......

Firstly, in this case it was not an 'accident' he was driving a death trap car dangerously - the driver was at fault, not the tyres or steering inbalance.

What we have here is evidence of some driving that is clearly dangerous taking into consideration the driver's knowledge that the car is unsafe. We can't prove that it is on a public road or a private road from the pics or what has been said. An arrest warrant can not be issued from such basic facts. Dangerous driving is a statutory offence so he can't be locked up on suspicion.

However, if you drive like a tool again then this forum topic could be used as evidence that you have a history of dangerous/inconsiderate driving. You need to get yourself on a driver improvement course. If you buy a motorcycle with your current mentality you'll be dead over christmas with the amount of black ice that builds up, especially on country lanes.

And with regards to Tav changing his forum name, I'd change yours - to OSTRIFIED. Because I'm sure that's how you're going to feel on this forum from now on, unless anyone condones the fact that crashing a car in such circumstances is just a learning curve.

Ooooo....that's intelligent humour. I like.

You guys are boring me!

But he definatley seems attached to his car, id personally scrap it and find another.

:-( I'm being a muppet; i admit that i am so attached to my car.. I guess what gets on my tits is that i'm still paying for the vehicle... Needed to take out a blooming loan and get the car because i had family over from back home, dad was back home his self and no one to drive other than me...

Firstly i'm going to get the chassis looked at, if there is no damage to the chassis or superficial then i will fix it oop. if the chassis is crumpled and so not worthy to drive then i'll scrap it...

OSTRIFIED? no such word mate; do you mean ostracised? adjective meaning on the outside; excluding a person from social groups as such? I've looked in the american dictionary and the english and can't find a match... i think it is ostracised you mean... :)

So checked out for chassis damage, then if positive shall get fixed bit by bit or if bad news then i'll flog...

U know what, i've such had back luck with cars... My first car was a nova which i got for £2.50, i managed to get it on the road and fill it with twenty quid of juice... fantastic car, took me everywhere... (even came with alloy wheels!), that unfortunately died on me on the A bloody 6 at jet (lol), then had an escort whcih i got bumped 35quid for - never got to drive it and sat in it only 1ce and my mat said he'd give me driving lessons on it... (bastid), then got my polo, and had a corrado since... i got it for 800, only gearbox was fuckadoodled... i gave it to my mate (same driving lesson one) to hold and the basterd sold it on for 200quid :@.. sp far i not seen a penny of the 200 and worse still the dude gutted the car, kept what he wanted - the vr6 engine was FINE... :@ i lost 600 on that because of him.,.. idiot.

And now i'm trying in earnest to fix this car up and am, am in emotional distress :x

Yeah bollocks

You ain't gonna get no sympathy now after being an arrogant idiot

still think u should cut your loses, i held on to a car that i wanted to rebuild for 3 years. It sat on my drive on axle stands. When the time came to make a decision, i went out and bought a mint shell and rebuilt that one. Ended up scrapping the one i really wanted. Sometimes its economical and safer just to get another one rather than throw money out of the window. Sounds like you have had a fair share of scrappers. Make 2008 a fresh start, fresh car and a fresh attitude to peeps on here and to the roads.....

Hmm... Well, at least i should consider getting it fixed. In the first instance i will gt it looked at and see the extent of the damage in it's full glory.. then see whether i can get all the absolute necessary parts for around 500quid... then i got to think about fitting costs... hmm - a bas

2008 - fresh start... i may even do that.. i'm giving myself now until the end of the year to get it looked at and fixed. If it's not done by Jan 10th (my b'day) then i will strip it and scrap it... (care to help me in stripping it, we'd have a laff stripping it and i'll supply any 'food' you may want for the day :) ?)

still, hmm.. i may just sell the spare parts, pay the polo off and start afresh... it's a pure basterd though. I got about 1600 to pay off (interest payments :@) and that's after a year of monthly 90quid going towards it...

I'll have to pay that off anyway, so maybe it would be better to cut my losses... i could get around 800 in spare parts and selling some other junk stuff i don't use... maybe it's not such a bad idea after all...

I'm gona work out the economics of it tonight after work; am a bouncer (H)

my god are you completely brain dead?

first of all i'm amazed that someone would drive a car with 4 different sized tyres, then you crash it and decide to join a forum for polo enthusiasts to advertise how stupid you have been and ask for halp and advise

as if that wasn't enough, you continue to be stupid by thinking that you can fix your car and it will "be a doddle" and begin to make enemies with everyone of this site, whilst still asking for advice!

face it mate, your car is seriously fucked up, even if you do manage to get it running again (road legal? i think not) its going to run like a bag of hammers, fall to pieces like a game of jenga the minute you pull up on to a kerb and won't be worth shit - if you do come to sell it in the future, well you've just advertised to a wide audience what's happened to your car

hopefully you will realise that you are living in a fucked up dream world and will just scrap the car

if we're really lucky you'll see sense and give your driving licence back to who ever you stole it from.... or did you win it in a christmas cracker?

a bouncer? means what? I'm a fcuking prison officer and have the pure pleasure of locking little kids up like you every day, your just VERY lucky you didnt kill someone or yourself or id have you a lovely en suite 6x10 room with a cracking view of the exercise yard!

hope it's a room with a view. NOw, go along to your baby sitting minors :)

The car really should have been written off

Yep - bent A-pillar for starters, that's not cosmetic, it's structural, meaning it would never be fixed right without spending stupid money. Broken dash tells me that the passenger compartment has been pushed in/twisted.

By the looks of it, there's not one straight panel on that car, I'm pretty suprised all that damage occured from just one incident - did you roll it?

Accept it, the car is a total write off, and you can't drive.

I still think this post is a joke, i bet his IP matches with someone else on here.

This bit's confused me:

My first car was a nova which i got for £2.50, i managed to get it on the road and fill it with twenty quid of juice... fantastic car, took me everywhere... (even came with alloy wheels!), that unfortunately died on me on the A bloody 6 at jet (lol), then had an escort whcih i got bumped 35quid for - never got to drive it and sat in it only 1ce and my mat said he'd give me driving lessons on it.

Your first car was a Nova which was great and took you everywhere, but eventually died on the A6.

Then you bought an Escort which you used to take driving lessons in?

Does this mean you were driving without a license? or am i missing something?

/\/\ You always pick up on things like that, Detective Paterson.

as funny as this post is i cant help thinking when its going to be locked because it is of no use!

You asked for help on how to fix your polo and you have been given the answer - break it and scrap it!

I cant see how you can think it will be ok? You obviously hit the A pillar so hard it broke the windscreen in the exact profile of it - that says to me there was probably some significant movement in the pillar... A pillar moves and roof will have moved, maybe no visably, but it will have done.

Listen i worked in a crash repair body shop for some time and i dont think i once saw a car come in that was this badly damaged that we didnt write off.

I infact worked on a mk4 polo that had had a slight bump in traffic into the rear of someone, slow moving. While we were sorting it it had been asked we see to the scratches on the door. Trying to refit the door we couldnt get it quite right....even from that small impact on the front the crumple zones had shifted just enough to push little things out and resulted in the door not fitting well at all.....So some how i think that yours may be alittle bit worse! Not necessarily to the eye (especially yours) but i can almost say from looking at a .jpeg

You asked for help, surely either listen to it and use it or to be honest your thread is pointless and you may as well just do one.

Only just seen this post and tbh Ostafied? What was the reason of the post?

1. To get advice - which you have failed to appreciate

You joined in Novemeber (so very recently) and already have the nerve to insult people who are ok maybe a bit rude but to be fair you

a) drove like a idiot

b) drove a car that had many faults

c) are acting a bit arrogant

Now I understand its not nice to hear bad comments back and you have had this from many forums. But if you having this from many forums then we can't ALL be wrong.

It would be a different story if someone else was involved in the accident! You paid no consideration for other people on the road and tbh could of killed someone with your reckless driving.

Just be glad you came out ok, didnt kill anyone, and are not getting fined / points or worse in prison.

And I am in love with my car! Its only a 1.4 and a bit more money would get me a GTi or something. But I am attached so I understand about not wanting to get rid.. But seriously.. by all means get it looked at.. but you have learnt a lesson!

And stop being a keyboard warrior :)

Rant over :)

Methinks someone is trolling.

Yep I second that.

Unless Ostafied can submit a photograph of himself by his car, to prove its his.

Preferably holding piece of paper with his forum name wrote clearly on it.

Well....

I would break it and buy a new car

LOL

i think hes half-way there

oh and osternobfield your a loser
