I have run the standard bumpstops on mine for over a year Tav, dont reckon you will have any beef, and i know you wont be cranking those rears onto the lowest pin

Glad to finally see some genuinely positive comments, and from people i expected would show up at some point. Have been with this project from the start, and was the initial parts hoarder until Tav had the room and balls to tell his dad , so i've seen it all and the thought and commitment is admirable especially for a 3rd year student on a very limited budget.. Despite that, no corners are cut and it will truly be an exceptional car when its finished.

Gonna have to up my game now.. gutted

Any chance of a side on pic of how those tyres sit on the wheel? i want to see if there is any bulge from the lip of the wheel if you get what i mean?

I either need a tyre that sits flush with the wheel, or one with very little strech

What's the deal with the 60/40 kit, is it 60mm on the front and 40mm on the back? I remember someone saying this kit comes with a spacer of some kind so that it can be fitted to the car to give 60/60?

Yeah the H&r is 60mm at the front and 40mm at the rear. There is a collar underneath the spring seat on the rears which can be removed so it will sit flatter 60/60.

again, cant recomend the H&R kit enough. my friend brought some kit from ebay for his corrado, my H&R set up feels so nicer, isnt as rough a ride as his either

I don't have a student I'm afraid...nor do I have an overdraft. I guess we are lucky in Scotland we don't pay the university tuition fees (although I just got stung £100 for the studio fun last week). I just make do on what I earn at my part time job + from selling a few things here and there...hence why progress is sometimes painfully slow.

I've been tempted by getting a cheeky student loan...but debt worries me.

Glad people are recommending the H&R. Heard a lot of good things from Spaniel before and a few other people giving it the thumbs up!

Hopefully when it all goes on I'll have some good vids/pictures to put up of hard graft. Bit worried that giorgio reckons fitting the subframe at home is going to be really difficult...only place I have to do it! No pit in the garage either

Blog 15: Fitted Alloys

Well I fixed my leaking rear brake cylinder that was keeping the car off the road the other day. I thought whilst I was there I'd try the new shoes on the car and see how they looked. Decided to leave them on as I'll be fitting the suspension next week.

I have to say so far Tav you've done everything in the right order, and you've chosen the right components too! It looks like your car will be on the road with the subframe and H&R kit about a week before mine (I'll get my own project thread started!!).

Anyway, looking forward to the next installment, keep up the good work!

Wheels are the perfect size. Very OEM too. Just the look you're going for. Think you'll need to space the rears out at all or do they sit fine?

Took me 2 hours on a garage floor on axle stands... they're also made on a garage floor on axle stands! Not all of us have the luxury of a 4 post lift- you don't need it anyway! :-)
