saxo vtr v polo 1.6

Its weird how there are different types types of 'dubber' on here... The ones who are genuinely into VAG cars, and then theres the boy racers who happen to own a Polo and 'reckon they luk sik wiv modz and that'

Thing is where do you cross the line? I like a race or two, in fact, I'll try it on with anything, I'll drive right up the arse of any modified car I see and see if they'll give it some beans.

But I ain't no chav, and I doubt you'd call my car chavvy

WORD

I hate people who slate people for wanting to beans their cars any opportunity they get. I'm not a chav, i'm not into mahoosive spoilers, body kits etc. I want my car to appeal to me and to have a sort of appeal to other peopl. But i do love a blast! Although my polo's NO speed demon, it'll go if you give it some. And i like that!

Driving for me is about enjoyment.

Dubs are what its all about!

well said ilike to give my valver abit sometimes mainly on A500 or other main roads. and I'm sorry to say it and i know i going to get slated for saying it but...

lets face it only reason anyone has a VTR is because the carnt afford a VTS or the insurance that comes with one.

o and one other thing everyone says if you drive a saxo your a chav and u like bodykits and big exhausts ect.

but dnt most the people on here have modded cars and have induction kits or fast flow panel filters and alot of us have stainless systems too.

so basicly most the people on here are hipacrits tht even includes me sumtimes lol

i have the 1.4 75bhp, and its not far behind my m8s vtr, hes had 2 and both been about the same so its not just a slow car, its the newer one aswell so the 98bhp, our cars are neck and neck up untill about 70, where the gear ratios make a difference and he pulls away, about 3 car lengths, all i have on mine is a k&n panel filter, so i dont think much mods would be needed? I'm probably wrong though.

That VTR is fucked then, when they are running properly they would be so much quicker than your Polo it's not even funny - before you come back about him having two, they were evidently BOTH fucked.

your 1.6 should be able to keep up with a VTR lol. my 1.4 has an air filter an i dont fall behind any VTR that has challenged me :| thats with me ragging the fuck out of my car like but still. your 1.6 should beat a 1.6 VTR.

ROFLCOPTERZZZZ!!!!

1.1s with VTR badging by any chance? Even then, a 1.1 Saxo would pull away from a 1.4 Mk4 Polo.

well may mates a mechanic, works for interpro up in thornbury and i can assure you he knows what hes on about so wouldnt have a "fucked" car and my car isnt a mk4 its a mk5,16v and as for the 1.1 pulling from the 1.4 polo??? 1.4 saxo furios are some of the slowest 1.4s I've ever been in and if they're that slow i cant imagine what the 1.1s are like.

i believe the saxo furio is 0-60 in something like 10.9 seconds?

tops out around 115-120 mph, its only a 8 valve ffs... so tbh its not that slow...

as for the 1.1 its way lighter than the 1.4 polo so might do...

I had a brilliant spectecale of a Saxo Furio blowing up outside my house last night, heard it coming down the street as i left my house, bouncing it off the limiter and showing off too a group of girls outside the pub, got to the mini roundabout outside my house and BOOM followed by a cloud of engine parts and oil as the piston came through the bonnet, silence..... followed by the sound of laughter.

Me and my housemate were still pissing ourselves 10 minutes later when the police turned up.

We did go help him to get it off the roundabout.t.

The only 6N polo thats going to 'keep up' with a VTR Saxo is the Valver

My mates got a 6N Valver and theres fook all between that an my Paseo. A standard VTR (phase2) will leave myne behind, Phase 1 (90bhp) theres negligible difference between.

I've also got a MK3 CL which is quicker than another mates 6N 1.4 CL, and the performance difference is huge between that and my Paseo.

So if you want to keep up with VTR's buy a Valver or 6N2 Gti!

agreed 8-) my car isnt a speed demon either but like you say joe if i give it some beans it goes well enough for me :) although as much as i hate to admit it i owned an sri corsa (1.4 8v) before my polo (1.6 8v), and the corsa was more powerfull (with ashley comp exhaust system with 3.5" tip, decat and induction kit i got it to around 90bhp at the fly) and was quicker too, remember showing up a saxo vtr or two in that ...

but with a sports backbox and k&n 57i kit the polo managed to keep up with an st170 focus upto about 40mph :finger: lol which aint to bad imo. haven't had the chance to embarrass any saxo driving chavs yet, but next chance i get i might have a go :unibrow:

next performance mods I'm planning on (hopefully, if money is good enough lol) is full exhaust system inc 4 branch stainless manifold.

*also* regarding a re-map, do you need to buy a new ECu first? or are standard ecu's mappable?
