far from fucked.. gotta say i do like em black. ;)

david.

Awesome car mate, love it :-)

what wheels have you got on it, they set the car off perfectly especially with the paint job

They were from Japan or somthing silly like that weren't they?

i'm a commissioning engineer :-D Which will probably not mean much to most of you.

Your the nice person that turns up and checks all the valves and the grass length and complains because the paint is slightly off colour ..

Maybee you help arranging starting up the new machinery / works ect also ??

Can you tell i used to work in an engineering office & Out with a resident engineer onsite

Contractors dont cut corners i promise :?

Bet you love your good old construction plans and health and safety folders ..

Back from the dead  ^^^^ Not the sort of work i do mate. I do mechanical air and water stuff mainly. A/C and vent.

Possibly thinking of moving the polo on now as got other things planned for the future 8-)

It now has stock interior and the wheels will not go with the car.

Will be looking for around 6.5K as it sits now.

pm me if anyones interested, i'll probably change my mind by tea time though

Sweet :D

What headlights are you running buddy?

got a peek of this in pvw :) new interior is it :)

ash what??!! dont sell it thought u had big plans for her?

Silly Brit, why on earth would you sell it on Ash? To many years of time, effort, blood, sweet, tears and love gone into this project, then 6,5k won't fill up the missing of the car!

WHAT your selling up whats the plan now then a thought this was going to be back in the summer better than ever

Love the colour! :)

Fav 6n by far...

 @ Jarno.

I think i may have been having a homo moment yesterday. Was having a shite day and feeling really rough and couldn't be arsed with anything, especially poxy cars.

Would love to say today i'm feeling different but i'm not really.

I have however purchased some really rather special wheels recently and it would be a real shame not to put them on the car...

Hopefully UD will get me going again, i've got plans lined up and a bodyshop so just needs me to decide if i can justify another few grand on the car or not.

hmmmm, see what mood i'm in tomorrow

Seeing as i have seriously neglected this thread for over a year i thought i'd stick up some pics from the summer when i was getting the car prepped ready for Edition 38.

Some small touches but those that had been bugging me for years and those sort of jobs i always seemed to put off

Painting the door strikers black was job no. 1

From

To

Next was the horrible grey strip on the door seals which have annoyed me since i had the retrim and Jarno kindly pointed out at MIVW :-p

And After

I'll sort some more pics tomorrow of some engine bay tidying also carried out in the summer

Ash

Its all about the details. Don't sell it!! Looking forward to seeing you and the car at some of the shows this year 8-)

What sort of spray you used to paint the door sills? Excellent polo btw m8 :).

HAha, sorry Ash, but admit it, it looks better now doesn't it? 8-) And if "having a gay-moment" means "I thought it over, and I over-reacted: I'm keeping the mk4!", then there's nothing wrong with such a moment m8, nothing at all! :lol:8-)

^^ possibly correct Jarno :-D Just the thought of spending another few grand on the car is not doing it for me at the moment. I think its just the depression of no shows for a while. After UD i'll be back with lots of motivation.

The spray i used for the door rubbers was just plasticote satin black. Lots of very light dust coeats and it applied well. It soaks into the material so doesn't flake off or anything

Ash

Did yours set rock hard? I did mine in matte and they set solid and feel rough.

Haha, well, maybe it cheers you up a bit, but Jeroen from the bi-turbo mk4 is getting really depressed with the amounts of money he spend in the last couple of weeks on buying stuff for his mk4  I frikkin' feel like Dr. Phil talking the poor bloke out of running the damn car into a brick wall  so you're not alone on psychological mk4-issues 8-)

Just keep Dubbin' it Ash, even if you sell it, you will never get back what went in, and why sell something that costed you so much effort? To watch some tosser wreck it whilst not being able to handle the power-figures? :-( No, just keep it m8, and make it proud to be a Dub 8-)

Ahh feels like you got your arm around me mate helping me through the bad times

You are right though, i know exactly what your mate is feeling. But like you say justgot to man up and get on with it. Get your mate to get his finished as i want to see it at MIVW. Has he decided on a colour yey? We don't want almost identical colours again :-p

H@wK£R - no mate with lots of very light coats its kept nice and flexible, feel a little rough to touch but only the scratchyness of the paint if you know what i mean

I only did one side and I gave it one quite heavy coat  when/if I ever do the other side I'll do it properly.

Haha, I'll have to get down on my knees to be able to put my arm around you Ash :-D But just continue, it's worth it all in the end when you're up that stage receiving a trophy or people walk up to you and compliment you on the hard works and effort you put in that car, that kind of stuff always kept me going, it keeps Jeroen going (you should have seen the bloke's face when I received a first place trophy last year in the Polo-class, and he got second with his VW T2 bus in the Aircooled class, he was so "not-amused" with me bullying him with that  negative-motivation, I love it!) and it sure as hell should keep you going Ash!

And the colour is already decided on, have you seen this months Performance VW? A similar looking colour is on the cover of this months issue, on the mk2 Golf 8-) paint's already in, when we're done sanding the primer smooth it's going for it's spray-over 8-)
