To be honest it does mainly get used for shows but its no trailer queen. Its attended two group thrashes at Bruntingthorpe already and i'm at another towards the end of the month.

Some may have also seen it going down the 1/4 mile at inters.

The main reason it doesn't get used is because i get the train to work in london so i use my golf to park at the station. If i could use it i would but i think it would last about to days left in the train station carpark.

Whenever it gets used it gets used properly

whats it like in the first gears mate? does it take time to pick up speed? or wheel spins then picks up speed

cheers

tipu

nice car mate

If you nail it, it will wheelspin through the gears but still accelerate like you would'nt believe.

At bruntingthorpe i managed a 0-60 time of 4.8 seconds (GPS proven) and this was whilst trying to minimise wheelspin so it still shifts

dam dats quick mate

did you need to reinforce the engine bay

cheers

Its a kinda car you can't produce over night.

just spotted it for sale on edition!!

just noticed this bad boy in performance vw on the 'gone with the wind' gti international page in the top right corner. Nice!

Woot?! What about your plans to turbo it like you mentioned in PVW? Look at you chirpsing Elliot for extra brownie points lol!.

But regardless...a masterclass in Polo dubbing 8-)

its already turboed.....

its definately already got a turbo!

Yeah well pointed out chaps, prestty sure its got a turbo already, and slightly larger than stock too

If it don't sell its going to be a big power 6n but i'd like to start a fresh on a car just performance based.

Ash

its already turboed.....

I er...knew that...just testing you guys :ninja:

Ash...you do realise that you will most likely physically cry if you part with the car...I know I would... :-(

yeah i have already been conteplating what i'd do if the car goes and i really don't know. To be honest i can't see it selling but if someone wants the car for the money i WILL let it go...... reluctantly

so if it go's you going to build just a purely performance based polo or go for something that could handle ridiculous amounts of power slightly better i.e 4wd?

  • Author

If James Hodson can run a 10.6 sec 1/4 mile in a fwd golf then a light weight polo can also.

Thats quicker thn most 4wd cars in the country that are'nt jap

this is very true, theres a video on you tube of that green vr6 turbo 6N running silly fast times and launching very well too. obviously the vr6 isn't ideal and i'm sure a highly tuned lighter 20v lump would do the trick as you've already proved. on a purely performanced based car i'm sure you'd see some low 10 second runs with the help of track tyres and a hint of laughing gas.

lets see how a light weight version does... ash has been on a diet.

Yeh man ! 8-)

Just seen your for sale add on edition man, such a shame to see this go into other hands, put it on a weigh loss diet and track slag it man, that way you can justify not using it everyday! You know it makes sense!

Dan

i think dan is right, you have spent money on stuff like the engine so might as well take advantage of what you have got already !!!

  • 3 weeks later...

this is so fresh ........any build pics 8-)

This car is perfection.

Whats it running on the strip at the moment?

I'm guessing low 12s?

I remember seeing this at Oxford Edition, bloody beautiful.

Whats the deal with the rear seats? Whats it look like with them raised? Or have they been removed?

lol there are no rear seats
