Brand new cars

Featured Replies

My mum always buys new cars.

She wants something she can get in and drive every day without worrying if something will break or fall off. Of course that will happen to any car but being able to take it to the dealer one day and have it back the next is just the kind of thing she needs. CAn't afford to be without her car.

Plus my mum and dad used to have proper shit old bangers that always broke down cause hey couldn't afford something decent. Now they can, why wouldn't they?

I like my old cars though. I love my Lupo, but its just not quite as good as anything pre-94!

but steve if these suckers didnt buy new cars, we wouldnt get cheap bargains down the line, and plus like you said your at the other end of the spectrum and i know you can get some fantastic cars for sub 500 quid, you only have to look in the paper at some of the 4 door saloons packed full of goodies and mod cons at bargain basement prices

Hahahah - Damn right, I'm thinking about buying a mk7 polo in about 15 years time 8-)

Yep like already stated if i could afford a new one i cant, so i just buy the newest i can afford... if its a later model I'm after obviously..

I'm even the complete opposite to Rubber12 - I buy the oldest car I can afford. Basic theory is, if it's that old and still going, it's been looked after well :-D

i dont want a new car because i dont like most modern cars, but if i had the money, i love to go into a dealer and buy a brand spankin new ferrari or summit.

Our Audi 16 2.4 V6 SE new = £30k. 1 owner, full audi service history, 90k....£4k...saving £26k....ehh...bargain!

I'd buy a new car if it were something special...some performance cars I don't know if I could trust the previous owner. You certainly get better value buying used. We had a 2.2 Astra SRi for £10k with 3000 miles on the clock...saving of £6.5k.

quick off topic here, I've just seen I Am Legend at cinema, was gd. anyhhoo he has a map of new york and in the middle is tribeca park or summit. there where u and del get you are logo from?

cant see the point tbh, even if i won the lottery id still be buyin shitty polos golfs campers etc,id only buy a new car if a could really afford it,but at my age(18) i jus wanna be pissin about with my car, most of my mates have newish cars but thats only because mummy and daddy...old bangers ftw :)

I can see it would be nice to have a brand spanker but I never would buy a brand new 'ordinary' car, if I bought new it would be because I had LOTS of money to spare (which I don't) and it would be a luxury or high end car with all the extras etc.

Until then I could never spend £10k+ on a new car when I could have a very tidy 90's car for sub £2000.

Its usually hassle-free and you get finance deals and all that.

I think its mainly because people dont like the idea of buying second hand, going to someones house and haggling, where as with new cars theres no need for all that. You buy a car from a dealer and if it doesnt work you send it back.

You've got to understand that not everyone thinks cars are great, they want to go to a shop and buy one, like they would with a pair of shoes. They just want a car to drive to work or whatever and dont care (and dont really know) that it depreciates.

I know of a lass who wont own a car thats second hand because she doesnt like the fact that someone else has had it before her.

My uncle always says 'You wouldnt wear second hand clothes...'

only thing is, i probably would

I do haha But a lot of people wouldnt dream of it!

Long live vintage!

Why not? All my crawling about under cars gear comes from a charity shop. And they throw me a free bag of soon to be oily rags in for nothing if I do some deliveries and collections for them 8-)

Brand new cars have warranties, you can get deals on them like free servicing or free insurance (could save a young driver thousands!) and you can spec the car to how you'd like it, colour, options etc etc. Also you know where it's been and guarantees it doesn't have anything to hide whatsoever. So there is no risk involved at all.

Don't forget all the good finance deals...most offer 0% now.

mine was 5.9% its doubtful VW will offer you 0% tbh, if you want that go to Vauxhall or Shitiron but tbh id rather pay the apr on a VW

I thought they were doing 0% on the Fox? Either way, you wouldn't beat 5.9% on a personal loan

oh mabye so then I'm not sure..... i need a personal loan to pay the optional payment off yet and no i doubt il beat the 5.9% but il shop around

ste you've made a new car look amazing i must say. really like your polo. the best new shape polo by far...

Thanks dude :-D think il be keeping rather than trading in
