Not as much as Hoppy's epic 50Mile journey to mine from the Lockup .. Poor guys were on a right mission !

That's only round the corner.

Try 3 hours each way

I'm over there Saturday finishing off the HG and trying to find something to do to the mk1 that doesn't involve welding or spending money

Oh yes this wasnt a mission home this was a little trip out .Saf had believed .. "Its just around the corner mate a local trip" i think Mr Tom Tom sent them on a pure mission ! ahh well I'm sure it was worth it .

I remeber when you came down to help get the engine out of the white loon .. Cant believe that you drove all that way and back .. utter Legand !

Stevie - It's a side effect of living in the middle of nowhere, everything's so far away just stop thinking about it after a while. Think that was the same week I went down to St Albans for a 1 day job with work

I'm in the bizarre situation where I just can't stop myself working on other people's cars. My own on the other hand... thats another story... doh :  .

Back there Saturday to crack on with the Mark2 H/G I think. I can smell the petrol fumes already from the fuel we'll be using to remove all the underbody sealant from the scuttle tray and strut towers on the Mark1.

Karl.

its alot easier usinga wire cup brush on a grinder u no mate I've just done my mini floor ready to get it shotblasted :D

You need alot of wire brushes though as the sealant gets stuck in them, maybe not so much if you're just doing the engine bay. Heat gun helps alot too.

That's more my style.

To be honest, I don't want to go any further on the mk1 til I can get the metalwork sortted and we've got somewhere to paint. So we'll get lee's chariot sortted then see if the neighbours will mind us moving some stuff about.

There is a smell in the air though - could be floor paint if I can find my two foot roller.

Just do it, then let it sit there for years, then re-do it.
