Was just busy online, and had Big Brother Live on in the background. They started talking about Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson, and John the ginger politician came out with "The Stig is Jeremy Gere", and then it was muted. After a quick google search, I have found nothing at all. Tried different spellings of 'Gere' as well, but still no luck.

Any of you old F1 fans heard of a Jeremy Gere? Of corse the ginger politician is more than likely completely wrong, but thought it might be of some interest to someone.

Sound's like they were pissing about and just mixed Jeremy Clarkson with top Gear and came up with Jeremy Gear??

Too much of a coincidence to have a stig that happens to share a name with Clarson and the show?

It wouldn't surprise me, based on how The Stig was kicking lots of arse in the 24 hour race challenge on Top Gear a few weeks ago.

on big brother there is a politician in it and at the time he was listening they were talking about teh stig and the politition said i think its geromy gere at which point big brother muted the sound and added one of their stupid sound affects things. tthink thats what he means :-D

i heard a rumour a while back that the stig is different people for different cars..

for example if they have a porsche round the track, they will have someone who test drives porsches, so they can get the best performance out of it..

I am personally under the impression there is a crew of about 6 Stigs.

They are all motorsport based obviously, but all from different classes.

I would go along with Ben Collins being one of them. But from week to week the Stig sometimes is a bit thinner then a bit chunky so it looks like they use a couple of different ons to keep rumours like this thread going.

I reckon its russ swift, look him up on U-tube. Hes a stunt driver whos an ex rally champion and is a perfectionist driver. Hes done more than 8,000 stunt shows in over 50 countries. He's been on TV, performed shows at prestigious events like the Isle of Man TT and more. Hes fully booked up for the next 2 years for shows and film stunts!

he came and spoke to me and my mates after we watched him at a max power thing doing some stunts. he said even from the car he could see us cheering him on and jumping up on the seats... it was more to do with the coke we'd been on that we were so excited, but still a good show. he took us back stage to look at the cars and shit as well, top bloke

Right well i was at my mates house one day flicking through some F1 books he had lying about.... one book just had drivers like all F1 drivers through the years, i come across a guy who had the name Stig! either first name or last i cant quite remember but he was a goof F1 driver and won stuff. Thought mabye there was a link there?
