midnight criuse convoy

Featured Replies

no worries mate, like i say try to see if the wires fir before you do anything else, it will probably only be the power one that you might need new.

Its a good system, and the amps already set up alright- did the trick for me anyway!

On the way home i twatted up my wheel alighnment over a mouasive pot hole, so I've been cornering like a granny/learner/stevie wonder all day today!

>.< I'm missing of the the screws to fit the 12v output on, and i take it the small'ish black wire is for the earth, red is for 12v, gold on connects to the amp then the blues longs ones connect to the bk of head unit ? this right

yep, sounds right to me!

Are the screws not in the amp itself? Ill check the boot when i go back out, might be a bit hard in the dark  Just trying to remember how the screws hold the wires in- they should be easily replaceable if you or me cant find em. Will look that up...

She was getting a bit worried, made me laugh. Found it funnier when we were trying to find the toilet for her!

ahh oki mate but is that hows its set out cuz i dont want to blow the bloody thing up lol, i'll try look for a temp screw for now anyway

I know, she was so scared of calling you guys too- didint want to be a set back! hahah, 3rd time lucky anyway. Thanks for you help during the convoy and afterwards lol, would probably have been in norfolk if I hadnt headed into central london. A3 at 2am is AWESOME though :D

Dean, I'm fairly certian thats how it goes. If your worried about it then just take it to somewhere that does ice near you, they shouldnt charge too much to fit it, or shouldnt even charge you to confirm which way round the wires go etc!

Lol its ok charlie, i hate driving round london, hence why i have sat nav, even though it lie's alot. And we all had to stick together, would have been so much fun if we didnt have to stop so many times. I wish we had a video of the teso's moment!

Oh and dean if you can help you if u like? Make sure u get a decent earth of the amp will not work. I've always had probs trying to get a good earth

well any help or a walk throught would be good i can always take pics of it laid out on my floor make sure its all correct lolz

annoys me i cant set it up till wed i think cuz of work usless in the dark lol

Yer trying it in the dark would be pointless.

Here is a qwick guide:

You should have a long think wire usally red. Hook that up to your possitive on your car bat, and get the other end to your boot.

At the same time run the phono cable from the sub out on the back of your head unit to your boot, and run the thinest wire you have (usally blue) from the remote out on the back of your head unit, too the boot to.

Now there should be one wire left, may be the same sort of thickness as the lead that is connected to your car bat. This is usally black, and what you need to do is bolt it to a piece of bodywork inside the boot. It basicly needs to be bolted to something metal to ground it.

There should be one phone input on the amp which the phone lead goes into. Then you should have three other holes with screws on the amp. Two should have + - on them. Your lead that is conected to the car bat should go to hole with + and the ground lead should go to the - hole.

Then you just need to plug the last lead into the the lat hole, usally the smallest hole on the amp. All this does is turn on the amp when you turn your head unit on.

Does sound like it could be a bit confusing :retard: , but I'm shite at explaining things! And thats how i sorted mine out even if it was a while back!

Still it shouldnt be too hard

this "remote" wire, is this the Blue wire coming off the Headunits Block though has a lil tag n its yellow saying amp,, this is what i have

The "BLUE PHONO Cable" someone has also attacted to it 1 small thin wire (like speaker wire) all the way along the phono cable, so thats what i guess i connect to the "blue amp" wire on the head units Block then to the bk of the "AMP" that says "REM"... :) ? correct i think that is

I have added photos to the thread in the photo section

i think i might even hve the tesco moment on camera, i know we have alot, but I'm not sure the quality, I've seen a few and they were quite bumpy to say the least

and the first pic in the slide show was at the start of sat for me, just before i met dan tubthumper on reading services

ill see bing n dan tonight and see what they have for us

I've added a few pics n videos, i haven't added some of the better videos of us coming home as at some points you can see my speedo nearly reaching 75mph :paranoid:

ITS FITTED done it all in about an hour maybe lil bit more had trouble finding the whole in the engine bay to thread it through but once that was done everything was easy, Charlie wires..... lol well lets say there was enough, but i looked at the pictures u sent me and its missing the screw in the amp there, and i really need one anyone got ideas where i can get screws from.... iv done a bit of a bodge job atm so its got a good earth... and the Bass is immence i cant believe how bassy it is lol!

;) pretty sick isnt it. A friend has the 15" one in his golf and it sounds a bit shit but its so bassy the rear wiper blades came off

I liked it becuase it sounded tight as well as having some good bass.

The screws arent in my boot, I'm wondering if somewhere like CAD would have any spares or something like that? In the end its just a shiny screw so I'm sure if a similar one is there b&Q will sort you out  !

lol snap thats just where iv been nicked some bolts from there :D now its actually working woooooo :D cheers !

nice one ;) good call! Cruise pics are up, i forgot to use the main thread for them though :S
