my mate has an iron cross on his wrist cos its the independant logo as matt said, and he's a skater. his mum thought he was in the bnp or something when he came back with it as she immediately saw it as a nazi symbol lol

interesting topics this.

I've not got an iron cross on my car but i do have a basque symbol. has nothing to do with nazis but does look a bit like a swastica (sp?)

hope i dont get duffed in!

DSCN1033.jpg

when i had my crosses on i had a few comments from older people but the police never pulled me for them

its just another sign of how ignorant society has become these days imo. theres 2 ways you could look at how the copper acted tho...

A) he was showing his ignorance.

B) he was trying to protect you (or your property) from other peoples ignorance.

either way i'd keep them on.

Did you ask the copper if he had foreskin?

I was wondering whether to put an iron cross or similar on my car but I was too worried about someone torching it or some shit. Plus I thought it might look a bit daft on something as recent as a 6n.

Another thing that is kinda related, the swastika is actually the reflection of a hindu symbol of peace (definately symbol of peace maybe not hindu ( religious education so it's a long way back))

something like that.. doesnt it have 4 dots tho (one in each square if u know what i mean??)

i rememeber from history that the swatzika originated way before the 20th century and the romans often used the "swatztika" pattern in their mosaics. I think the symbol has something to do with peace...

or just read this bad boy

The German Iron Cross in its various grades was awarded to all ranks of the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine to recognize officers and men for acts of bravery, heroism and leadership. It was first introduced on March 10, 1813 by King Frederick William III of Prussia, who was then at war against the French under Napoleon. Since then it has gone through many evolutions and was reinstitued again by Adolf Hitler on 1st September 1939, in readiness for the Second World War.

The Iron Cross in its various classes was a standard medal awarded to all organizations of the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine. Despite the prestige of this medal, it was very widely awarded having about 6 million recipients throughout wartime. The Iron Cross awarded during the second world war had 1939 imprinted in the center, which is the year of its reintroduction. The Iron Cross was awarded to recognize acts of bravery.

The Iron Cross comes in two grades, Second Class and First Class. The Iron Cross First Class could only be awarded to one who had previously receive the Iron Cross Second Class. Hence, the First Class was more restricted and more highly prized. Both the medals looked very similar and were worn on the same position on the lower left side of the uniform. When the Iron Cross First Class was awarded, the Iron Cross Second Class was signified with a small ribbon attached to a button.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was a highly distinguished medal recognizing acts of valor within the German armed forces. Unlike the Iron Cross, it was worn on the neck with a striped black, white and red ribbon attached. First awarded on September 30th, 1939, approximately 7361 of these awards were presented during the war, of which 43 were awarded to foreigners.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves

The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves was introduced on June 3rd, 1940 to further recognize acts of courage. As with the preceding medals, the Oak Leaves could only be awarded to one who had earlier receive the Knight's Cross. A fan of three silver oak leaves decorated the Knight's Cross, just above the clip on the medallion. In all, 890 had been awarded during the second world war.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords

A highly prestigious medal, it was introduced on July 15, 1941 to further recognize Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves recipients for further acts of valor which was beyond the call of duty. A pair of swords crossed at 40 degrees was added below the oak leaves. Only 160 of these had been awarded, a further testament of the honor attached to this medal. Panzer ace Michael Wittman was awarded with this medal.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds

Introduced the same time with the Oak Leaves and Swords, many consider this to be the highest award that can be earned during the war. A set of diamonds inlaid on the Oak Leaves and Swords was added. Awarded only to the most highly decorated and heroic figures of the armed forces, only 27 servicemen had receive this award, one of which was General Field Marshall Erwin Rommel.

Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds

This medal was of the highest recognition, Hitler intended to limit this award to 12 of the most distinguished servicemen in the entire German armed forces after the war ended, assuming an axis victory. As the Third Reich collapsed, an exception was made and only one award was ever presented.

The only Golden Oakleaves, Swords and Diamonds holder was Hans Ulrich Rudel of the Luftwaffe. A Stuka dive bomber pilot, Rudel destroyed 518 Russian tanks (that's five Russian tank corps), 150 flak and artillery positions, 700 trucks, sunk the Russian battleship Marat, a Russian cruiser, a Russian Destroyer, 70 Russian landing craft, and hundreds of other targets (bridges, railways, bunkers). He also heavily damaged another Russian battleship, the October Revolution. Rudel flew 2,530 combat missions, of which 400 were in a Focke-Wulf 190, claimed 11 air victories and was shot down 32 times.

THE SWASTICA is an ancient world-symbol that is filled with occult meaning. It is an alchemical, cosmological, anthropological, and magical sign, and contains seven keys to its inner meaning. Its symbolism explains great mysteries of the Kosmos. It is the sign of the universal creative force, evolving from pure spirit into gross matter, and contracting back into spirit in an endless cyclic process.

Early in The Secret Doctrine, H.P.B. discusses the meaning of a progressive series of symbols. First an empty circle appears, then a diameter bisects it, followed by a cross within a circle and, finally, a swastica within a circle. The circle with a diameter represents divine nature within absolute infinitude. The cross within the circle represents the beginning of human life. The swastica has the same, as well as other, meanings. It is called the male and female sign, and appears in an ancient Indian Catechism, on the hermaphrodite goddess Ardha-Nari, in place of the navel, symbolizing the pre-sexual state of the Third Race.

In the Macrocosm, the central point of the swastica represents Deity. The lines of the cross represent spirit and matter, and the four arms bent at right angles represent the perpetual motion (cycles) of the forces of visible and invisible Kosmos.

Applied to the Microcosm, the symbol represents man as the link between heaven and earth. He stands with right hand pointing to heaven and left hand pointing to Earth. The lines of the cross represent the male and female principles in nature, or the positive and negative.

The decussated cross, "X," was used by the Hindus, Brahmins and Buddhists, thousands of years before it appeared in Europe. They bent the ends and made of it the swastica, or Wan of the Buddhist Mongolian. It implies that the central point, the Deific principle, is not limited. The four arms point toward the four cardinal directions and end in infinity. Thus Deity is in all in nature, and all in nature is in Deity.

The swastica is symbolized by the figure 6. Like that figure it points to the zenith and nadir, as well as the four cardinal directions. It is the symbol of Fohat, of the continual revolution of cycles, and of the four sacred Elements in their mystical and cosmical meanings. One who understands the meaning of the swastica, according to the Commentaries quoted in The Secret Doctrine, understands the relationship of the visible to the invisible, and can trace both the evolution of the Kosmos and the appearance of man and all of the creatures.

H.P.B. also relates the swastica to the worship of Agni (fire), and the sun:

Whenever the ancient Hindu devotee desired to worship Agni ... he arranged two pieces of wood in the form of a cross, and, by a peculiar whirling and friction obtained fire for his sacrifice. As a symbol, it is called Swastica, and, as an instrument manufactured out of a sacred tree and in possession of every Brahmin, it is known as Arani.

In a footnote elsewhere in The Secret Doctrine H.P.B. explains that the arani and pramanta were the stick and perforated vessel for kindling fire among the ancient Brahmins. The name, Prometheus, came from pramantha. Prometheus stole the sacred and celestial fire which then became the terrestrial fire, that of procreation and therefore phallic. He kindles the spark of life in man and teaches him the mysteries of creation, which from Kriyasakti, falls into the selfish act of procreation.

The Scandinavians had the same sign and called it Thor's Hammer. Thor, the god of thunder, held this symbol as a sign of power over men and the elements. In Masonry it appears as the grand master's mallet, and in modern times, it is the gavel of the judge, a sign of power and strength.

H.P.B. calls the swastica a most mystic and ancient diagram, saying also that it is as sacred to occultists as the Pythagorean Tetraktys, "of which it is indeed the double symbol." The swastica is also known as the Jaina Cross and has the same meaning as the ansated Egyptian cross, or tau, and the Christian cross.

And NO you are not a Nazi for dispalying either of these symbols. The German Socialist Party (Nazi's) STOLE the swastica symbol which had been a sign of peace for hundreds of years before the Third Reich and used it for their own, evil and corrupt benefit.
