The downpipe is part of the reason i had mine mounted slightly further forward in the bay to allow a better angle on the downpipe so it doesn't hang so low. But it does mean i smash the sump before the downpipe so swings and roundabouts

I dont really understand your problem though, my 20v polo was on 14s and looked lower, yeah it scraped a bit over speed bumps and dodgy roads, but nothing like what youre making out....

Mine did have a custom exhaust and downpipe, must of been mounted slightly different too

In what way is the gearbox pooo simmy? the feel of it or ratios?

Mine runs a mk4 golf 5 speed and needs longer ratios, but thats the joys of light weight and muchos power, it accelerates so quick you need longer gears

The downpipe in the black 20vT 6n i had sat very low like yours looks.

In the black one the downpipe was by far the lowest part of the car and would often catch, that car was not really low either.

In my green one the sump and gearbox are lower than the downpipe.

It must be down to engine position to determine how much space there is.

mine is runnin the same box as yours mate.. but its just far to short :(

my sump has miles of clearance as they have mounted the engine hi its just the flex thats the problem.

Like i said in the text dude, don't be afraid to rev the fecker to the redline. Mine hits 63 / 63 mph at around 7100 rpm

With the wheels and tyres your running it'll probably top out at about 145mph on the limiter, which is plenty fast enought when its a genuine speed not 'by the speedo'

A car is always going to need some fettling when it has had such a huge amount of work done to it. Sure it will be just as you want it once you have sorted the niggles out.

I've got my black one running again after some serious cold starting and electrical issues!

Anyways, she's back and better than ever now :) Also got the S3 fuel pump in there for good measure and some more forge goodies. Will be good to go down the strip with you :)

well vdubs put a 6 speed in my mates 6n years ago... i no it can be done its just a pain in arse. cos i wanted my engine mountring really hi it wasnt possible
