Right got some more updates...

First of all got the headlights fitted, which weren't a straight fit as I was expecting and had to do plenty of chopping

Nothing special for the GTi owners, but they are 6000k rating so oem+

Some more stuff arrived too...

Got the headunit fitted with a 160gb ipod and absolutely love it! Still need a 70-50mm reducer for the BMC to fit.

Got some more updates lined up for next week 8)

Looking good! I have a few small queries, did you use an OEM D2S Hid kit or aftermarket? Also if aftermarket does the ballast fit in the recess provided?

What "chopping" was involved?

Also are the headlights self levelling or are they still levelled using the knob on the dash?

It was a hids4u kit, and no i didn't use the slot. but i found a space close to the headlight and fitting was easy for the ballasts. I had to chop a bit of the slam panel near the inidicators to allow room for the headlights. Self levelling, I have no idea if the self levelling is working, but at the moment they are pointing at the sky, i still need to get them adjusted.

Inters prep involved taking my wheels off and cleaning them properly, so I had the winter wheels on for a while...
