Lowering

Featured Replies

Id say to you Coilovers all the way..I had FK Highsports, No CD skipping. Just the handling was brill...even on steels. Drove a car with Philj's kit, felt roughly the same, the price you pay for Phil's is dirrty cheap!

He has a 1043 mk3... a set of coilovers will cost more than the car is worth!

yeh lol that is my problem... need something cheap but not affecting anyway....

Tommy.

i say chuck it on a set of springs for what it is.

hi i am thinking of dropping my mk 4 polo 40/40 will it still get over speed bumps becouse there is a few out side my house.

40/40? you probably won't even notice its been lowered

tommyisthecham, what size wheels and tires are you planning on running? (also what offset?) i had my mk3 down 80 all round on wide 13's with stretched tires and there was way too much arch gap still, although with the standard GT steels with standard size tires it was about perfect. mk3's just ain't capable of going silly low without coilovers which cost way too much imo.

i used the 80/60 philj kit and it was a nice ride seens as its a lowing kit.

i have a mk4 and colies, down quite far around 100mm. i do speed bumps ok if i go slow and avoid big ones.

-my cd skips all the time

-its a bone shaker

-passangers will HATE you

-opening the door and forgetting theres a curb there :S lol (only made that mistake once

-having to lean down so far just to fill it up

would i change it.

NO

it handles great and looks cool

  • 3 weeks later...

i got a mk3 1043 on 15s lowered 70/70 bit of arch rolling and a 8mm spacer its not spongy but it aint too bad and it fills the arches.
