ok so I've done what u have advised!

The wires you'll have going to the amp unit are likely to be igntion (+ve), ground, and a tacho/rev counter feed - without looking at the bits you've got, or finding a Golf wiring diagram I can't be 100% sure.

Presumably you're running a low pressure fuel pump for the carbs? Remove all your Digifant ECU and ECU wiring loom, you don't need it any more (assuming you're not relying on it to supply the fuel pump relay!) and it'll just complicate things.

Down where your old GT coil was, you'll be left with a 3-pin plug. It's the one that clips into the little metal bracket that bolts on to the coil. One wire's an ignition live, the other is the tacho input to the clocks (the middle thin wire - green and black I think...), and the other is a ground (black I think).

rite the wires on the coil

ther is a white plug which is in the picwith 1 red wire coming out of the plug and going 2 nothing and 1 green wire going from the plug into the loom.

on the other terminal there are 2 bare terminals (see pic) and 1 black wire going from 1 terminal into the loom.

on the lom itself ther is just 1 black wire coming out of it not doing n e thing. then u just have the plug 2 plug into your dizzy which is straightforward and the ignition booster thingy the other end of the loom which is fine.

my coil on my gt: plugged into the coil on my gt ther is a brown wire a blue/green wire and a black wire

then connected onto the bracket on my coil ther is a plug and the wires are brown/red/blue

also need 2 no wer 2 wire the coil into as my freind doesnt no what wires are what on my car and doesnt want 2 tap into wiring on my car 2 gety coil working as he doesnt want 2 damage n e thing so hes confused onto wer 2 wire the coil into.

try another scrappy or put a wanted in parts on here !!!!!!!!

i already have put a parts wanted on here and no 1 has n e thing plus i have run out of muny so this HAS 2 b used it wil work just need 2 wire it in and it may not b as straight 4ward as the coupe s 1 but it will b ok none the less. find out wer the wires go= job done.

At a guess - black wire coming from the loom is ground. Red wire coming from the coil going to nothing needs to go to ignition live.

You need to connect your rev counter feed to the negative side of the coil (if you look carefully there'll be + and - symbols on it, the red and green wires will be plugged in to the + side if I've understood correctly!).

Can you take a pic of the wiring next to your existing coil? I don't have a Haynes manual or Mk3 Polo to hand - but it's the plug and socket on the coil bracket that you're interested in. That's where you'll find a ground, a live, and the wire that goes to your clocks/rev counter.
