the mini conversion wasn't easy. its taken me two years now, but that included a full body resto too. i spent about a month of evenings and weekends making the frame with help from my dad.

the hot rod is ten times better than the mini in my books got a few more pics, i'll post em when i find em, too tired now

It is a chevy V8. 350ci (5.7 litre), Edelbrock carb, few other trick engine bits i cant remember right now :( (far too late for my head to work proper!). He's been building that for 2 years now, he had the chassis rails imported from the states, and the body was moulded in Torquay. Front susp is a yank imported item, as is rear end... infact almost every component on it has come from the USA

mmmmmmmmmmmm both yrou cars are sexual, owning a mini myself i can fully apreciate what you have done and what thinsg have cost roughly to get it to taht stage, and hats off to you mate youve done a GREAT job.

The Mini is absolutely fantastic work Joel!

I love projects like this, lots of thought and proper engineering gone into this. A 200+ bhp XE in such a lightweight car can only mean one thing - FUN!

The standard of workmanship looks to be superb which is something I always admire too.

and grungeisdead, yeah it was scary, although it was running only 125hp at that point. since the rebuild i'm hoping for closer to 170atw (about 200 at the flywheel ideally)

The car is pretty much sorted now (again )

wiring all done. megasquirt done. fuel system plumbed. seats back in, harnesses in, windows back in. doors will go back on tomorrow. Water pipes ordered this eve (all silicon... crazy expensive! )

yeah, if you look at the front on shot, you can see that cam cover sticks out the hole in the bonnet a tad. i've already made up the plug that'll ultimately be molded off for a bulge.

the dash is lurvely.. "action man hair" is what one of my mates calls it

long time since i've been here, but got some newer pics and a video :p

actually even these pics are a little out of date - the bonnet is now brown as i had to repair some damage and didn't have any beige left. and i've fitted power steering too. and i've got some velocity stacks. it made 170hp on the rollers and i've since fitted 50hp of nitrous oxide. Weighs 650kgs with a full tank of fuel.
