I never understood why people say that 'coilovers' are firmer than regular springs and shocks.

with coilovers like the ones philj sell the lower you go the more pressure is on the shocks making it firmer (or thats what i was lead to believe anyway).

New pics at some stage but I am without the necessary technology. Of course, anyone at SoVAG on Monday will see the latest in wheel and suspension development. It's on Scirocco springs all round although it may be a little too low. Ripped the fuel lines off this morning on a speed bump, lost a lot of fuel, got a bit angry and now have 8mm copper pipe instead.

What rear coilys have you used mate?

The ones PhilJ sells :) Not sure what make they are (i stuck them on the car straight away :p) but they use 60mm springs and are zinc plated (no rust!). They do a very good impression of solid metal bars!

I think they're actually meant for a mk1 golf but they bolted straight on with some washers on the bottom :)

did u use the helper springs or take em out?

 Actually... no. That was mid coil-over fitting. It still rolled and didn't rub - in the arches that is.

This is how she really sits:
