guys can we stop the off-topic and carry on feeling sorry for me please?

Max.. I feel for you.. Its shit when cars get broke into.

When we gonan sort it? I'm free all this weekend.

Do the ignition wires just need reconnecting? I.e. Soldering etc? I have all the required electrical stuff. If you come to mine on saturday we can do it at my halls. Plus Maplins is a 3min drive from mine if we need anything extra.

(Its Rich, not sam BTW)

I'm going back home tomorrow cos its my dads birthday, but we can sort it early next week, cheers

nice one boyos for hooking max up, was this your polo dude? you sure you didnt leave a sammich on teh seat, if it was a cheese ploughmans i would have broke into yer car

haha. nar, nothing got stolen, so it wasnt anything that was on show.

speaking of food though, you do owe me half a wispa wrapper :lol:

unlucky max mate, good that the car wasnt nicked though

little update;

forensics just came after having told me they were going to come on the day it happened and kept me waiting at my flat on 3 occasion

said that the person was wearing gloves.

and we had this conversation;

coppa: they have seen this car as an easy target because its old.

the problem is, you've bought an old car because its cheap and easy to insure.

me: no, thats not why i bought it

coppa: why don't you just get a modern car?

me: whats the fun in a modern car?

coppa: they don't break down.

me: niether does this. goes to london and back no problem. 70k on the clock

coppa: oh well, you should look into it

idiot

police arent very good at being funny.

the only times you need them to help you is guaranteed to be the same time they will say, " not much we can do "

really sorry to hear about this mate, sounds like it was little pikeys tho rather than pro's.

maybe an alarm wouldnt be a bad idea, although if your anything like me, student life is not very wealthy life.

Gotta love the Police...all that special training they have to learn how to speak to victims of crime....really paid off for you max. Its a pikey area, you could have a brand new car with an amazing alarm system and they would try and steal that too.

Although i am intrigued you said its only £60 till the end of the year...think thats all halls?

i'm still not laughing about that richard. and i never will.....cockmuncher

leane- i dont know about all halls. it was just because there isnt long left till the end of term that they did that special price for me.

Me and penisbreath had a go at repairing the hot-wire damage... I may have learnt how to criminally move an older vehicle...

A couple of pics here showing the damage - somehow the tossers managed to break the ignition barrel surround! This means that the inner workings of the wiper stalk won't align, and that means that every time you stop at a red light I have to run out and scrape the rain off! :lol: :lol:

Comedy shit - maybe thats what the coper meant about old cars hahaha. But yeah, we managed to solder the wires and plug back together. Started off nice and civilised soldering the plug on my dining table, both of us holding bits to help out [god that sounds so wrong!]. Once that was done we took it to the car and managed to pikey the biggest wire back together with some salvaged spade connectors lol.

I manged to get all but one of the wires connected again. The last one was a bitch, so i ended up laid upside down across the door sill, a wire in each hand along with the soldering iron in one, and a length of solder gripped between my teeth trying to melt it all together!!!

We got there in the end, at the expense of one blistered fingertip thanks to my retarded attempt to use the tip of the soldering iron to steady my shaking hand (yes it was snowing at the time). Having bent all the connecting pins on the ignition barrel into place, i managed to wprk the plug back on... And it worked! Another success for pikeytech. And i didnt charge the bastard a penny, despite physically disabling myself in the process. Luckily though it was my left hand, and i am right handed... I think as a repayment max should rebuild my engine post HG change :p :badgrin:

Wish he'd taken a photo of me doing the last wire ghetto style! Still it works, and thats one broken bit done now. No more pikey hotwire starts every morning :p

woohoo, and only one injury, i think he owes you a wispa for that, and give him half the wrapper from me
