Man, nice collection of parts you've got there! Looking forward to seeing this running 8-)

Loving the progress on this looks wicked already!

Is that computer programing your doing there? or working on network control stuff? Or just playing with lego!!

its for my final year project, i was given a brief to design, program and implement a robot in an object-oriented programming language to be able to respond to its environment and possibly show evidence of learning, i built a line follower using a light sensor and two bumpers for collision.

I created a back-propagation network to run on the robot with the 3 inputs being a light sensor and two touch sensors, and the outputs being the two motors, the robot has to learn a few rules in order to be able to navigate and it does this by training the artificial neural network on a test set of data, the training affects the weightings in the networks (the weights are initially set to 0). This works like our mind, when we learn something the weights (activation threshold for a neuron) is changed which affects any decisions passing through, and ultimately our actions. So once the Robot as performed its initial training run, its uses its modified weightings but the new inputs come from real-time, the values are propagated through the network and dependant on the weightings and input signals will either turn one of the motors, or both on, either forward or backwards to enable the robot to crawl along a series of paths and being able to decide which route to take when it meets an obstacle.

and heres me trying to take a break from work

more odds n sods

new wishbones with polys fitted, accidently ordered the wrong ball joints so they are getting swapped today or tomorrow

also passat 4 port mc and gearbox bushes

got a few duplicates i dont need, steering rack bushes, rear top mounts, rear beam bushes and front wishbone bushes, gimme a shout if anyone wants em

transformers! safbots in disguise! :)

Great work Saf, and a great collection of parts... Webers are cool too. NOW GET THE BLOODY BAY CLEANED.

Love the wheels btw. ;)

*waves flat opened hand close to head from front to back, whilst whistling the noise of a bomb dropping* :ninja:

So the weed is there just to calm you and bring you back to planet norm with the rest of us?

How many of you did the whole waving of the hand whilst whistling?:lol::-p

Fookin hell dude :) You seem to accumulate essential parts by the day! Love them OZs &-)

hahahahaha i just watched the transformers film the other day funny as fuck! leg-end

mwahahahahaha clean bays are for suckers :-p i'll clean it once i got everything up and running and rest assured itll be all lovely and clean for the engine swap whenever i get round to it

maybe :lol::smoke:

I've only been allowed to buy stuff if i sold other parts to pay for it so most of it hasnt really cost me anything and the OZs aye they are lush, i got offered them from a guy i sold a set of wheels i had planned for beena. we crossed palms for the same amount of cash. and considering i only paid 60 quid for the original wheels in question, its true when they say karma comes around :D

got some recaros today yummmmm, got either bucket seat subframes or 2 spare seats in my garden i can rob subframes from.

anyone got any idea what car they could have come out off?

7972_1.JPG

also the proper ball joints have arrived, hurrah

Escort?

Plaid is proper nice too, like them a lot

Edited by Supreme

Manta, Capri or Escort I would have thought.

  • Author

by the way i have absolutely no idea which car they came from  was hoping someone would definitively know

and aye laddie cannae beat a bit of tartan woop

62 of the queens finest heads they cost me :D

mmmm, nice seats retrimmed cards and headlining now is it saf :p

Seats are ace saf, and I'm glad to see you got the wheels in the end! DIY refurb? Or are they getting some pro tlc?

  • Author

nah man aint trimming the door cards or the headlining, effortz init

the headlining is white anyway and in proper mint nick so its a viable excuse to paint the wheels white :p

and sam, i think one of the wheels needs a bit of ally welding cos it hash a bit of kerb rash but hopefully i can get that and the wishbones done at the same time from park engineering in trafford park

and as for the paint they will probably get some pikey love :D

YOU KNOW WHITE WHEELS ARE THE FUTURE! YO! :-D

They dont look ford, ford are normally grey :?

Were those seats on ebay!? I'm on a seat hunt at the moment

as i said earlier, eurochode

They dont look ford, ford are normally grey :?

eurokipper and aye fords are normally ghey i mean grey i was looking at a few sets but most have been destroyed by behemoth ricer lads from essex

Were those seats on ebay!? I'm on a seat hunt at the moment

aye they were indeed lad, i missed out on some recaros freshly trimmed in magnolia leather and blue alcantra centres for 250 the other week was well pissed off, but these were barginous and in preston so only down the road woop

informatics ? I'm in engineering doin a MSc in wireless sensor networks, but we got a module in informatics department called data fusion...and all i remember the dude talking about is neural networks, fuzzy systems, some other stuff......we been using matlab for neural networks and fuzzy logic...do u do owt with that ?

our current course work is to like make a fuzzy system, have some inputs and known outputs and use matlab to do all the calculation n shit for it ...wierd but ow well. sounds wicked what u doing, coz my undergrad was a BEng in Electronics and Electrical engingeering, and we did this type of stuff but using Microcontrollers, programming em and making circuits up for em....and i know how u feel for putting the car on hold, I'm in the same situation, iv been going crazy trying to make this electronics kit to work with my computer.....its all wireless except base station and we gotta read data in and send over 2.4GHz the free freq band i.e. bluetooth but we using something called zigbee. its just pissing me off lol ...ok woooooosaaaa

what a properly cool project, love it 8-)

wicked mate, i have used matlab before, we had to create a back-propagation network to automatically classify loan applications for a german bank, that gave me enough of the backgruond knowledge to tackle the problem of adapting the matlab implementation to a java implementation and then actually getting the robot to do something with it.

what year are you in mate? I'm in my final year of artificial intelligence and cybernetics, its been a good laugh, not done nearly as much work as i should had done but I've been lucky with firsts in all but one bit of coursework (that i only got 40 for) but fook it a pass is a pass :)

what a properly cool project, love it 8-)

cheers dude
