Hullo you lot.

I finaly got myself a semi decent camera (stole my old one back off my mum) so thought ide give Povetina (poverty spec polo) a clean and take some nice piccies in the sunshine!

The wash for today was just a quickie over at the jetwash in Tescos but a few weeks back I used autoglym Bumper Care on the trim bits and they are still looking nice and dark Shes also done me really proud over the weekend and driven me from stoke to london and back without a single hitch! Returned nice mpg cruising between 70-80mpg the majority of the way so am very pleased :-D

So anyway, here is the piccies of the lovely Povetina!

Oh by the way. I am planning on tidying up the steelies (not getting alloys just yet) and was planning on repainting them black. When I was in halfords choosing the paint, I came upon the idea of possibly painting them in a baige/cream colour.

Basically, if all goes to plan, ide like to end up with a nice cream leather interior for Povetina and so thought it might look quite cool to have a little bit of cream on the outside too. Would look very retro me thinks.

In regards to the steelies i think if you kept them black and sprayed the lips red it would look cool. If you still want a bit of beige outside paint your filler cap that colour.

Still tempted by the beige wheels :) Just think it would look quite cool. Would prefer to do it with some weller or wider steels but the standard ones are in good nick anyway so seems silly to get rid for no reason!

Much lower profile tyres and dropped on its arse would be perfect. for the cream steels

Well I've just been out to halfords and bought some Ford Tuscan Beige along with primer and lacquer and some wet/dry etc.

Will make a start tomorrow me thinks

I couldnt wait to get started So decided ide spray up something that was easy to remove and wouldnt be too much of a hastle to respray if I wasnt keen...

Got to admit that I'm loving the colour

its growing on me!

Ok, so I've had a slight change of plan this morning.

I took the first steelie off to start preping and found that under closer inspection, it did have some scabby bits. Had a quick look around the rest and they were a little scabby too so I've decided not to spray up the steels afterall.

I decided to spray up the original VW hub caps instead

Only done the 2 so far. Might leave the other 2 until tomorrow as I'm spraying in the house (too windy outside) and the mother in law will kill me if she finds out (shes at work atm). I just need to add a coat of lacquer once the beige has dried and then I'm all set

Well thanks to the nice sunshine, those 2 caps are now dry enough to put on the wheels

In all honesty I'm not too sure. I love the colour but i dont think the caps are right. I never liked the design anyway and they certinatly dont suit the beige that much Would have looked alot better to have done the steels afterall but I'm still happy :-D

Will probs get some golf mk1 alloys or pslots soonish and spray those up :-)
