anyone know if i have to change the fuel lines?

You dont have to change the fuel lines.

Good thing as that is one of the worst jobs. Just make sure that you use the higher pressure GT inline fuel pump and you are ok on the fuel side of things.

Got my mk2 GT conversion running this weekend. 2.5 days work and drove it home. :-)

thanks

dont all rush at once... bump :D

I don't know about the wiring sorry.

Was planning a similar conversion myself and was just wondering what tool you used to get the drive shafts off as on here and the Haynes manual is very vague.

Thanks.

i have sorted it so its all good flettened the battery though oops

i never removed the drive shafts it was easier to drop the engine and lift the car over it!!

it is heavy as the engine if only i had an engine hoist or crane lol

after a very very long time and a lack of time being at uni etc, i have managed to get the car going!

first time in tooooooo long :nyah:

looked into the carb and it was literally swimming in petrol, chucked a well charged battery onto it and then a few turns then it was going. it didnt want to idle but i think thats because the k &n is on it...

very very happy with myself :D

few things i need to sort out for m o t time, still need to line up the gearbox which is going to be tricky i reckon

the brakes on it were done last year but my cousin is scrapping his

6n 1.4cl

and it has brand new discs and pads on it so i think i am going to use them

does anyone know if they will fit if i take the 6n carriers and calipers?

and i need an exhaust gasket and studs... dont know where on earth i will find them though :uhm:

oh and to get it back to red :haha:

very pleased :lol2:

gsf, eurocar parts, local motor factors etc for all random bits and bobs like that!

VW for the exhaust manifold gasket, may as well get studs and nuts too. 5 for the manifold and 4 for the downpipe plus washers.
