polished lip and silver centre

makes a hell of a difference, and they are back to what they once were :-D

they where done at Spit&Polish, but on this wheel, there are some bubbles in the lacquer on the centre part might send that back.

and i'm not sure actually! i broke the wheels and my dad sent them off! aha

I do know that i was quoted £75 + VAT per wheel in one piece, and he said it would be cheaper if i broke the wheel myself

so, i think it was £50 per wheel, but not 100% on that figure

turns out they were £65 + VAT per wheel!

so to save yourself £40 brake them yourself lol

if you have a look at the pic above and you see the pressure valve, the bolt hole to the right of it (roughly at 11 o'clock on the wheel) there is some paint missing;

that is where they hung it(?) or something, but they said touch in the paint yourself, and if there is any problems within a few months, they'll redone them again

Man this is awesome. good to see it got stripped right down! And you're like me when it comes to reassembling: Everything has to be as clean/shiney as possible. I occasionally take my engines apart purely to polish the combustion chamber and ports and just put it all back together haha (although they are 2 strokes so top end is off in minutes)

Anyways, excellent build thread, now it's on its way back together again I look forward to the aesthetic side of things!

I just thought, since it's all apart, I'll do it properly. It paid off tho, my dad says the only way it can run smoother, is if barry white was playing on the radio aha

If I had the time I also would! Would be nice to know that my engine is nice and healthy

Thank you the next thing I need is a new passenger door, the dents pulled out on the passenger side, and the rust taken care of (caused by the dents)

I received my headlight restorer kit in the post (thanks aajr for the heads up) and it tried it out on the tractor to see what would happen...

finally have all my wheels back

I'm gonna chuck 'em back together tonight, and stick them on the car tomoz so that she can be MOT'd

the bolts i got in the post were in wrong ones, a cock up on the suppliers end, as the reciept was correct, but the wrong items

also gonna get a door from Nero's in Barking, should be fun getting a door in the back of the tractor

if i get the chance, I'm gonna re-paint my calipers

door a new door, rubbed down and its gonna be primed at the end of the week coming

went out for a drive in it, and its so nice! it pulls well i must say. the gearbox is lovely! so smooth and easy; better than the gearbox on the SDi

had a go at the headlights again

Turtle wax headlight restorer kit (left) and Autoglym Paint Renovator (right)

the Paint Renovator came out best no doubt about it, the kit is just repackaged Paint Renovator or something similar

i just the autoglym stuff about half a dozen times, going up and polishing off, then side to side buff off etc. etc. I'm gonna do it a dozen times more and hopefully they will be looking nice

Haha spent on the right things me thinks . I haven't really skimpped on anything; and what needed to be replaced, has been replaced with OEM parts.

A good old clean is defo on the list, but this guy came into work and sprayed some stuff on the wing and door, it looks amazing! I'll have to find out what he used

I've also got some red seat belts, proper smoked side repeaters and LED number plate bulbs

Edit: just remembered that the front tracking it out (towing outwards) and there is a problem with injector 2 (misfire when cold, clears on warm. VagCom picking the same code up time and again) nothing complicated to fix

Thats the way to do it, Erm it was probably something along of a quick detail polish. I shall get some pics up when its all done . I would be careful about the injectors as some can be very expensive but you could get a second hand 1. Tracking is easy, Mot garage should be able to do that for less than £100 probs.

there's two answers to that aha

currently i am on an intern-ship at Black & Veatch based in Redhill working as a finance and accounting assistant; dealing with projects, invoices etc.

but in my free time, i go to my dad's garage based in Eltham; Eltham Park Motors

my dad isn't specialised in any field, but the only things he doesn't cover are gearbox's, tyres, body work painting and electronics. my cousin who works with my dad however, can do some limited electrical stuff, but with the listed things above, they usually outsource

but other than that, its all good :)

usually when i am there, i am shadowed by my dad or my cousin, they just make sure i dont blow anything up etc

bottom line, i do the vast majority of the work, but i have a helping hand and a few pointers occasionally (and i mean, who doesnt like help?)
