Just got home from uni today and i went to see the GTi tucked up at my dad's

so happy with it just everything about it :p

here's a few pics from today

but, since there is a lack of room in the yard, I'm gonna give it a good clean tomoz

the engine strip down is gonna happen soon! stay tuned over the next week!

edit* we suspect is a valve problem or a stuck up oil rings as it misfires on startup and after a while, it runs fine but smokes

Update*

at the end of day one:

an interior scrub, and a bloody good one at that

everything was cleaned, the door cards, roof liner, seats, carpets

so today was a good interior clean, only because the car was not in best best position to take apart.

It's just that she spits out smoke whenever you put you foot down, and I mean alot of smoke lol

Oh btw, about the lowering, I was thinking of getting 20mm lower springs and some spacers on the back, but that is to come later :p

cleaned up the roof lining, got my new GTi service book and took the head off :)

The other day I was working mostly under the car (the drive shaft was in the way when I was taking off the sump :-/ ) so I don't get hot at all aha

There has been some more progress btw, but I have been away from my comp and I am in Cornwall this weekend to pick my bro up from uni

On Thursday we found out that the valve sills where fine, but the exhaust valve guides are fucked (the oil was getting past the sills and was running down the valves into the combustion chamber; hense the blue smoke. But my dad says that there is too much smoke being made from this one potential problem, so we'd are gonna replace the big end bearings and the piston rings aswell just as a precaution)

^^^ all valves, valve springs and valve sills removed from clyinder head

^^^ exhaust valves cleaned

^^^ after i sent the clinder head off to Biggin Hill for the exhaust valve guides to be redone (as they were f*cked!) i gave the car a wipe done; shiney as fook! its been looked after

still searching for piston rings :/ cant seem to buy them anywhere

i cleaned up the exhaust side of the head today

just waiting for parts tbh

Sure, no probs. but just a note; are you sure you're not using and outdated Internet browser? On my laptop and phone the images scale down to a 1/3 of the size of the forum automatically (hense the thought process behind the large images, as you get as much detail as possible when a large image is scaled down)

Yep, I'm on Chrome. They do scale down but only after they've loaded at 100% scale which takes way too long and my internet isn't that slow.

^^^ all clean

^^^ piping on (hint, i used insulation tape on the bumper. thanks aajr )
