Does the master cylinder have to be done that way?

Yeah I was planning on splitting the rear from one

you'll need to run the biggest MC possible, and it will be over biased to the rear even with the inline type bias valve (these valves only allow you to dial more pressure to the rear, not take it away

well in my experience, do it cheap do it twice.

I split off a front port from the MC. You will find you will need the biggest master cylinder you can get - check out a sharan or T4 one other wise with the mk4 calipers on the pedal travel is epically long.

i now run a bias pedal box, with a 25.4mm AP racing cylinder on the rear line to get the pedal travel/bias remotely close to sensible. The back, even with your bias adjuster wound all the way out will still be over braked.

So u recommend changing the standard mk3 polo master cylinder

I will ave to look not this,

you literally can't run the standard cylinder, it won't move enough fluid to the rear calipers as the piston size is much bigger diameter than a normal wheel cylinder.

Ok going on you are recommendations what size master cylinder do u think I'd need and where be the best place to get one for a good price

i personally would run the biggest VW one you can find from something like a Sharan or T4 transporter, 24mm ish?

try somewhere like ECP/GSF, i think there is even a section on here with a guy who does discounts on new VAG items, he should also be able to help you with selection

I'm using type 2 fronts, mk2 golf rear setup (soon to be mk4 golf due to weight saving) and a 22master cylinder, the pressure bias for the rear is wound 90% + of the way in, with it allt he way out its dangerous, nothing works up front and the back locks near instantly.

Soon to be on vauxhall fronts (cant due to running 13's at the minute) so i can wind the bias back out abit then.

this is the same problem I'm have with mine (non servoed). I'm running a 22.2 G60 master cylinders

Rears lock way to easily and the fronts not at all. I'm currently running a 4 line system but going to change to 1 to the rear with a Tpeice and see if that reduces rear breaking force if not I'll perhaps put in an in-line regulator.

The Guy is here but currently its for Club Members only

http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showforum=118

this is basically why i went straight onto a bias pedal box -

i'm now running a 1" cylinder for the rears and a 0.700" for the fronts and have a really good pedal, and obviously can mechanically adjust the bias on the balance bar rather than an inline regulator as such.

Will it make any difference with mine as mine is servo?

Oh ok, I'll have to get moving with this, another thing to add to my already long list lol,

Oh I thought the bias valve worked the other way and reduced the pressure to the rears, opps lol

A quick little update, the beginning of the seasons not gone to plan, not being able to get the carbs set up, spent hours tweaking changing jet sizes etc, needs someone to know bike carbs, I've lost patients, and have sauced a set of twin weber 40's I'm currently getting the manifold man to fit, recommendation to anyone who wants a manifold made this guy is ace

Company if anyone's interested is danst engineering he can be found on Facebook

At least with these on the car I can take them to my local rolling road also a weber specialist how can set up the carbs, jet the correctly be do a power run

Cars lookin good , What makes your exhaust and what's the price on it :-)

with the amount of cash youve thrown at this you could bought a wideband sensor and easily set the carbs up! there super easy man!

My exhaust was made by long life, prices vary depending on what u want the cut out in the bumper was already there by previous owner

Very true, but with the bike carb set up you are guessing really on jet sizing etc, and all the set up screws etc are all on the under side of the bike carbs so making adjustments to mix and jets you've gotta take them off and can never get them back on the manifold in the exact same spot, which can all effect how it all runs, and being that I'm racing the car I want the carbs set up correctly to get its optimum performance

Had a play this weekend, got the manifold and webers on, set the webers to its base setting and once fuel upped round she fired first time and run smoothly, a few more tests and tweaks and she'll be ready

Had an awesome weekend at bug jam, thought I'd give an up date, we run with the vwdrc, I finished up qualifying 4th out of 24 which I was happy with. Eliminations started, first round paired me up with former champion dean in his beetle, who's normally on his numbers, after beating him put me in a good frame on mind for the rounds ahead, I followed on through the rounds defeating who I was paired up against, semi final saw me with a bye run, then it was final time, I was paired up against other rookie Jason in his beetle, he ran slightly closer to his index than I did but I beat him on total run time due to my reaction on the lights with a 0.02 light against his 0.13 handing me the win

Here's a few pics
