As for my manifolds,I've used simple flanges,bolted to the head using like an O ring to seal them. Then some wire reinforced 40mm silicone hose linking the carbs to them. The carbs are held rigid by a bracket each end. I had no guide for this,i just visioned what i needed and went out and found things that i thought would fit. These parts would be found from an industrial machine parts supplier.

My simple manifold beginnings(its not pretty i know)

Going to weld 8cm(i think) long, 40mm tube into each plate and then attach the carbs using reinforced rubber hose

should work ok

Original inlet manifold in pic just for show, wont be any part of final product obviously

There isn't going to be anything restrictive in my setup, so no reason why it wouldn't flow well

Those plates are going to be very restricted, the flow is just going to bounce off it. In fact I can't see how any of it would get into the cylinder.

Gasflow doesnt like hitting sharp edges etc (ie, where rubber hose meets stubs), I'm not sure how much this would effect it.

I'm currently looking at making a manifold for my Pug 205 so I'm learning as well :)

They look to me like mild steel... mig weld on 40mm stubs and you're away.

Mild steel cut from plates, probably about 6mm thick, same stuff my catch tank bracket's from.

Which is why it's showing a little bit of surface bronzing.

Anyway Mikeymk, what have you made that throttle cable bracket from and how have you attached it?

How did you make the carb support brackets and what did you attach them too?

How did you attach the choke cable to the pulley thing?

Hey that looks like tornado red to me.

It's a trick of the camera, a friend's maroon squareback looks red in some lights/photo's.

I'm a little concerned that my throttle cable situation isnt going to be long enough now, due to the place I've fitted it

The choke cable isnt connected. It starts in one second,though the first five seconds are only about 500rpm,and is fine after about ten seconds. I'll need to connect it by the winter,though. The throttle bracket is the old swirlpot bracket butchered lol. Yes its Tornado,and goes like it. Cosworth/Scooby kind of swift,it humiliates anything that tries - if only cos anythin fast enough wouldnt try!

So not metallic red like Nick's then.

That's what I was thinking -

It's just I'm sure he said it was metallic red somewhere, but in nicks thread I can only see the post where he isn't sure. Nevermind. Case closed either way!
