This car has gone through quite a few different looks. When I first got it, I made the mistakes of wasting time and money on lexus lights, tints, wolfrace alloys, lowering springs, and a cherry bomb backbox, but since then it has become more and more scene, and progress is now faster than ever!

Also fitted a nice little high power interior light which makes a big difference and looks sweet

Going to be doing a sound install in the summer with a false floor, loadsa sound deadening that sorta thing with a full progress thread when I get it started.

I'll get it up in a seperate thread when it starts.

Fitted this 2 days ago, quality is amazing compared to my old sony xplod headunit and it looks so sexy.

Also got these components to go in, look so much nicer than my shitty Alpine Type-e coaxials I had in before.

Of course these new ones will be amped.

PROJECT ORANGE REMOVAL HAS BEGUN

Getting my arse into gear now, and starting to buy bits and pieces for the car to finish it off/start it lol.

Bought a solenoid boot popper for when my boot is smoothed in the next month or so.

The orange honeycomb grill has been sold for £35 and replaced with this,

The notch will be filled at the same time that the boot is smoothed!

I loved the look of having the majority of my bumper on show and not having a plate, so to balance being legal and looks, I bought a square front plate,

To fit it, I had to custom make a bracket which would fit onto the grill.

Not to everyones taste, but then again it would be boring if no one did anything different or had the same ideas.

Then, I had to remove my pressed uk font plate, which is only 3 weeks old!! It was stuck on with heavy duty velcro tape, and fuck me, they weren't joking. Wouldn't budge, and was tugging so hard my plate bent into a U-Shape.

After alot of boiling water and t-cut, the glue was gone, leaving the finished result in terms of the plate relocation. Here goes...:

Then, onto the interior. The orange has gone! These bits, along with others, will be base coated gunmetal, and then carbon vinyl wrapped. If the vinyl finished product is poor, then I will just use a solid gunmetal.

I can finally start my false floor build!! All I needed was a 2-channel amp to power my new components.

Originally, I wanted an amp to match my sexy looking kenwood, but then I decided that the amps would be hidden, therefore I decided to just get something cheap which will do the job. 97 watts RMS x 2 :p

I just picked this up from eBay for £19.99

Pretty happy with this as it's saved me £100 quid as the matching Kenwood amp would've been £120

Not really an update...yet, but I like taking pics.

This is what arrived today which should give a few clues as to what's next :p

Also, bought some gloss black spray paint today for the interior, so should have it all primed up today!

Updates! Getting the ball rolling now on the install front.

My mate DEEJ, who's on clublupo, has been busy making me some custom tweeder pods. Done a top job, and they are almost done!

Spent £52 today on sound deadening

Here is the boot floor deadened with some proper heavy duty deadening. Not used any of the foily dynamat or damplifier as I thought this would be better. It's also very tacky, so sticks down and forms a bond very quickly.

Next, was to deaden the doors. Here is the stripped door.

The deadening used was Stinger Roadkill or something. £17 for 4 feet.

DO NOT EVER BUY THIS DEADENING IT IS A LOAD OF FUCKING SHIT. Doesn't stick at all and I'm not exagerating. Even to bare metal it just fell off. So 5 rolls of gaffa tape later we had to secure it and stick it down manually.

This look so bodged that it is too embarassing to put up a picture! It still works though, and will be very effective, it just looks a mess lol.

you can push them through to the inside of the car and pull them down enough to drill through the plugs.

Just undo enough of the underside dash above the footwells to give yourself the room. Thats what I did anyway.

I'll try that then mate. This is the picture I had from someone else's mk5 from Talkaudio. This picture just makes it look so much easier than it actually is...

This bit comes apart by twisting it off and then once you have the inner part of it inside the car your sorted.

Put a hole in the blank part of plug and thread you wire through. You are right, it is quite a tricky job but it will

look better in the long run.

Got some more pics. Here is the deadened door. Looks a mess, but you won't see any of it anyway.

As you can see, I had to use ALOT of tape as Stinger Roadkill has no adhesive capabilities at all!

This pic shows the connected crossover.

Here's the connected woofer, with deadening between the baffle and the metal of the door.

All the mess is hidden behind the original door skin, then the doorcard over the top.

This is how the wire was run into the car. Was prooving too difficult to run it through the molex plug, but this wire is barely noticeable at all, unless it is pointed out.

Should hopefully be picking up the finished tweeter pods tomorrow, then I'll crack on and get the doors finished because they are pissing me off now and I just want to get on with the false floor.

once undone, you push the purple part inside the car.

Pull it down and there should be a triangle shaped space in the plug.

Drill through it to make a hole and then look how the connectors line back up with each other

Put another hole through the other part of the plug in the same place.

Thread your wirer through whilst there still seperated, should end up with this.

Line your plug back up, pull the wire tight and twist it back together.

Job done.

Managed to continue with the install today.

Got the nearside crossover installed and drilled the hole for the speaker wire to run through.

Also, I had a couple of orange interior plastics which I sprayed. Not anymore, thanks to my mate Deej (dj_lupz on clublupo). Done a top job of spraying them gloss black!

Also, the best update of all. The tweeter pods are finally finished!! The tweeters will be going into the cups tomorrow once the lacquer has dried.

The doors are now totally finished and I am now half way through the false floor and boot build, which should hopefully be completed on Wednesday evening.

This is what we managed to do yesterday! I know there are a few rough edges. Bits need filling in and planing. Need to crack on now with building the floor for the amps.

Don't worry the sub will not be floating, a box is being sealed to the underneath of the MDF false floor to house the sub.

Small update, managed to get everything wired up earlier. Both the amps are working, and the wires are pretty hidden.

Coming together now.

Updates! Finally got it finished, but don't have any decent finished pictures. Will get them up tomorrow morning probably.

First thing to do was to make the second part of the floor. Managed to get it right first time, once again made with 18mm MDF.

Then it got trimmed up in charcoal grey suede. Didn't think that jet black would suit the interior too well.

Then we finished off the other section of the floor and sub enclosure,

My car has crying out for wheels for a couple of years now. Probably the most overdue modification to my car yet!

For the grand price of £125.00 for all 4 wheels, I've bought my dream wheels

Got them from eBay, so just need to sort out payment and shipping, so hopefully everything should work out!

They look a state at the moment, no caps, split bolts missing, one wheel kerbed, but hoping to make these look really special!!

They are 14 x 8, and are the lower ET versions with the bigger dish :p

Gave the car it's first wash today in 3 months!

Also, sorted one of my HID's out because it wasn't working, not quite sure what made it start working again?

Managed to fit my bonnet bra though, but not sure it's on properly because the stitching should be on the edges of the bonnet and not on top!

Thanks to H4ris for the bra btw, I'll need it for when I get the bonnet welded and resprayed!

Car is going into the bodyshop tomorrow, well today now, so had it in the garage earlier to get it prepped to go in, was pissing it down with rain!

It is now at 4 x 4 ride height and bits and pieces have come off so I can continue doing stuff whilst it's gone :)
