I've wanted one of these for a while, originally wanted a 2 door, but i saw this 4 door local and kinda cheap so i went for it

Its nothing special, and never will be, but i just thought id keep a progress thread on here :-)

Bought it standard, 1.2 8v, rather tidy just a little rust on the rear offside arch and around filler cap

Only 2 pics of it standard (thanks to mancmike and beckyb)

As with all my cars, the first mod is slammage

So a pm to philj to get some cheap coilies went ahead. Got them in no time

Fitted them (much easier than shitty polos/golfs ) and put them on the lowest setting. I knew the rears werent going to sit as low as the fronts so i kept the helper springs in on these , but i didnt know it would look like this

So off came the rears again and i took the adjuster rings out, which brought it down about another 15mm

Still isnt low enough for my liking

But it`ll have to do until i can figure out how to bring the rear down more, then i`ll take the helper springs out of the front to get it on the floor

I bought these wheels a while ago. MK2 Golf gti 16v wheels AKA montreals AKA bottle tops

I originally wanted to put them on my last polo (the scarlet minx) but i was going to make them look like giant bottle caps :-D (some of you might remember my thread asking for different kinds of caps?)

I was going to do four different kinds of cap (coke,sprite,J20 and probs Becks) which would of looked cool i think

I did a chop of the coke one (silver bits were going to be mirror polished)

Well anyway, i sold the polo, so now I'm going to put them on the loon. But I'm just going paint the centres black and polish the same bits as above

Like i said, this isnt going to be anything special, i want my golf to be the special one

But i do have a few plans, I'm going to get rid of the slooooooooooowwwww engine and put a 1.6 8v in it (out of a nova GTE) but run it on twin 40`s, probs DCOE`S. Tidy up the rust and just add a few chrome/polished bits

Want it to look like this (silver/grey bits will be polished/chrome)

Thats it really :-D i`ll add updates as they happen, doubt many people will be interested anyway though

get some fat beeeatches in the rear 2 get that back down! seriously though think its got a sweet stance and with some sickkk gurth on the rear would look spot on man!

ahh finally the bottle top randomness is explained, thats pretty cool dude, and the nova will look cool if it ends up like that chop, whatever happens itll be pimp, especially peoples faces as they hear and see the screaming new lump

If you're going for a 1600 for insurance reasons, then why not go x16xe (from the corsa sport), its a really nice motor and responds well to tuning. I know of quite a few mini's with that engine in.

My first choice engine would still be a c20xe however

Love the saloons, Spesh the 2 doors but 4 doors are just as pimp. :-D

A huge improvment as always with the lowering

Wheels will look good when done, def do them in the black and silver detail

Well i finished clay baring it today (only took 4 weeks nearly ) so i gave it a nice polish and wax to celebrate :-)

Also tinted my rear lights (bottom half) and indicators/side repeaters

I'm not too sure on the fronts, i only wanted to do a light tint but the orange coming through looked rubbish

Not only insurance reasons, my golf will have a BIG engine in and i want another 20vT polo so I'm planning on keeping this as a daily

I'm not a fan of N/A 16+v engines really i like low down grunt hehehe

or i just need some standard front and rear bumpers...just registered on png...was jus lookin at you thread on there...:)

Christian, you have great taste hehehe thats what I'm doing, I'm going to satin black the bumpers, mirrors, rub strips and splitter too

And I'm going to colour code that bit in between the front bumper and splitter :-)
