If you're going for a 1600 for insurance reasons, then why not go x16xe (from the corsa sport), its a really nice motor and responds well to tuning. I know of quite a few mini's with that engine in.

My first choice engine would still be a c20xe however

if you went for the 1.6 16v corsa lump then the C16xe is a far better option than the x16xe which has the crappy ecotec system and generally aren't as strong and have a few less ponies.

i've done a fair few vauxall conversions mainly corsa c20xe redtop's or c20se sri 130 2l 8v's and the 8v are well worth a look decent amount of torque and upon popping the bonnet most people couldn't spot the difference from your 1.2 8v lump.

I think those times are a bit ambitious as 2.0 16V Nova saloons only run around the 14 sec mark, they are probably a hell of a lot faster than a 1.6 16V with an exhaust that's blowing.

as for the paint job, it looked quite shiny before, not that keen on the matt look/ burnt out look oh well at least you're trying!

I'm not a fan of rat black on the whole (man drunken typings hard!) but that seems to look reet nice. The black on black looks pretty stealth, nato green will look sweet to dude.

Still haven't seen nana loon in the flesh!

Didnt run in the end we got there late due to the m6 being closed then when we finally arrived the camp site was a bog so had to find somewhere better to camp, then i only wanted beer

Fair enough the colour became popular with the rat rod scene (where rat look came from) but it still doesnt mean a matt black car is rat
