You probably already know, but you've actually got the best of the 1.6 16V Vauxhall lumps there. Properly well designed head, decent cams as standard and with some ARP rod bolts you should see 7k rpm all day long without it going pop. I'm shortly dropping one into my Mini (to replace the C16SE thats in at the minute) and with ITB's the power should increase to about 150-160bhp and a nice round 140 lb/ft. Even on 40's or 45's you should still see a huge increase and if set up right a massive amount of torque, get that engine bay stitched up good and proper

Well, i went to bleed the brakes today ready to tow it up to my mates garage so we can do some automobile heart surgery

But as per usual, the bastard bleed nipples were stuck/welded shut

First off i rounded the head then i hammered a smaller socket onto it, tried turning it and the damn head snapped off - grrrrrrrrrr!

Theres not enough left poking out to use a stud extracer on it so I'm going to take a dremel to the caliper tomorrow around whats left of the nipple so i can get it out :-D i did try using a file but there wasnt much room to work with

mole grips and a new bleed nipple are usually your best mate but thats a sticky situation now, you might be able to get a small enough stud extractor i think I've got some itty bitty ones in me toolbox

Driling is the last resort dont want to make the hole/thread too big and have to hunt for the right sized new nipple
