nope i cant lower lol, I've got 195/50s 15"s I've got to get some spacers tomorrow.

Tommy.

u must be able to??

those rims are everywhere round here on corsas and saxo's haha

damn halfords

Its sitting very high! My corsas sat on standard suspension with 15" but it doesn't look that high. Why chrome door handles? theres no other chrome on your car...

No you cant go lower as stated above its already rubbing, yeah all the chavs have them lol good job I'm not a chav just a poor student :p

door handles will finish it off, it doesnt matter if there is no other chrome just better than plastic inserts.

tehehehe

If you don't wanna go lower then fair play... but I had a mk2 breadvan lowered 40mm over 7inch wide 15s... a coup should be no problem!!

then if your poor sell your wheels run stock steels and lower it?

The reason is because I prefer the wheel on standard height mate. At the end of the day the car cost me £125 and I'm 17 soon i've chosen to try and make it look as good as I can without spending to much money.

I tell you the first thing you need to do is take your back wheels off and swap them over. Those are directional tread tyres, and they're on the wrong way around!

Anyway, tidy looking car, but as soon as you can afford it wrap those wheels in some low profile rubber and get it a bit closer to the black stuff.

dude, i think itd help your car alot if you lowered her. I've not seen those wheels before but i dont think i mind em. spesh if you lowered it it'd take away how big the wheels are. 40 or 45quid to mr GSF and youd have a box of -40mm springs. surely be cheaper than all the bits youve listed up thar.^^

as for the door handle inserts go for it, should be able to slip em into your pocket off of a golf next time your at the scrappy.

cars looking cleeeean though. and red! which is rare for tornado red. my old one whet pink every week an a half, haha.

What I'm planning on doing it riding these out for abit, then in a year or so dropping a 1.3 lump in and buying some dear wheels but yeah its a good idea. thanks

Your car looks mint

so

buy some 40mm lowering springs this will be the cheapest and most noticeable mod you will not scrub the reason you scrub standard is because you have soft standard springs witch flex and bounce by using uprated lowering springs it will be a firmer ride and will scrub less and be lower and look nice!

40/40 springs - £50 from Philj on here!

or you can pick them up cheap second hand off here in the for sale section for a lot less!

if you wanted you could buy some GT/G40 arch and sill trims

then buy a New interior GT or G40 depending on you budget that will be more than the cost of springs!

Hey dude

I would say go out and get yourself some GT/G40 arch trims ..

Ebay is your friend when it comes to buying these .

My old mk3 was lowerd 40mm on 15" 6J wheels and it diddnt rub at all mate .

Get yourself some 165/50/15 tyres and you could go down furthar than 40mm.

It is dependant on iff you have seats / stereo in the back .

Il show you some pics of arch gap on my old car with diffrent tyres on 15" wheels .

I had troubles with scrubbing on 195/45s but not 165/50's

Here is a piccy of the extreme arch gap when i had 165/50's and lowerd 40mm on a spring set from GSF

Photo-0102.jpg

This did not rub at all even with 4 mates crammed in the back to try and find out how low i could actually go .

This is a piccy with the larger wider tyres on and seats and stereo equiptment in the boot

MyCar.jpg

This used to rub a little but not too much to be honest .

Iff i was to have another Mk3 on 15" wheels i would go for around a 60mm drop with 165/50 15's mate

This would keep the car practical and it wont look so high off the floor .

a guy on the forum called StueyB ran his old mk3 on 15" wheels i think Tractorboy form this forum owns it now it is dropped a nice amount . Give one of them a PM I'm sure he will be happy to show you some piccys of how it looks .

Also try searching the search bar for a mk3 on 15" wheels thread ..

Hopefully this has helped ..

de-wiper the rear, chrome handles, gt rear lights, clear side repeaters etc..

Think what he means geez is swap the wheels round that are on the car as the tyres are directional ones and are facing the worng way, which can be VERY Dangerous.

Jowe

Black and red looks cool! :-D

I think adding chrome would be a mistake. Your car looks sweet, brother. I wanna make mine look clean like that. I don't think you need to lower it, I like it like that, but you definately DON'T need chrome door handles!

If anything you should get a black aerial.

first of new wheels then lower it lol looks like a 4by4

looks really clean tho :D

I wouldn't plan on that, jack it up, swap the rear wheels over to the other side. It wasn't a 'you could change this' from Alex it was a thats wrong so change it asap.

Aye, your tyre tread is going the wrong direction buddy.

Here is my bit, i have stu's old car and have 15" wheels on 165/50/15 and down 60/40 with no rubbing unless car i have 2 in the back and go over bumps.

If you are on a budget, i reckon you should get hold of a couple of quid and get some 13" steel wheels with tyres. Can be picked up for peanuts. Then look out for some GT hub caps, should be able to get hold of some off here for cheap. Then sell those alloys. Some chav will prob pay a fair bit for them on ebay, this will cover the cost of your steel wheels and should give you some cash to get a lowering kit from phil j. Then you can go low, and look the nuts. I love the standard GT wheel trims when a polo is slammed. And trust me ebay will be your friend for selling your current wheels.

Here is a recent pic:

If you want to see more pic's here is an old thread of mine

Here's a pic of my old GT down 60/60 on steel wheels with the GT wheel trims:
