Hi guys

I'm new to this site, having just bought a Mk3 G40. It's my 1st Polo, and i'm really looking forward to it. Bought it off ebay, seems to be ok so going to pick it up shortly. It's a bit moddied, debaged and doesn't have the arch spats or side trim. Alloys are wierd, and not bbs. Not sure they will take ATS cups as these would look fab. It's been dropped too and has a jabbasport supercharger.I would like to get this a bit more standard, although i like the idea of some modifications. I've always wanted a G40 8-)

About me, i've been into mk1 and mk2 golfs since early 1990s, having owned 4 mk1 golf gti campaigns and a mk1 scirocco storm. i currently own a mk1 golf gti campaign tsr conversion, putting out around 150 bhp, unfortunately this is now for sale. On top of that i have an oak green 3 door mk2 golf 16v, which is pretty much mint. I'm the founder member of the Mk2 Golf Owners' Club www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk this is a very active site having only been establisher a few months ago. if you have a Mk2 Golf, please come along and join.

My knowledge of Polos is very limited, so i will be asking lots of questions - sorry!!! I'm located in the forest-of-dean Gloucestershire, and hoping to attend the Taunton in due course.

Thanks guys. I'll be at Ultimates as we have a stand outside - Mk2 Golf Owners' Club. We'll be at many more shows this year. Please pop along and have a chat. Unfortunately the mk1 is hardly used, so its up for sale. My wife uses the Mk2 16V as a daily. We also have a T25 for camping. I'm really looking forward to the G40, as it'll be something completely different.

Very much looking forward to meeting you guys in due course. I'll be a paid up member soon

Chris

Hi folks

Drove her back from Scotland. She's a great little car, and has had lots of mods. Currently running on 14" Golf Rivage alloys  but changing them to standard BBS RA 13" at the weekend - picking them up from Wigan. Its got spax adjustables, 63mm pulley, jabba stage 4, induction, chipped and rolling road confirms 140 bhp. There is a boost metre fitted where drivers' air vent should be. Car was resprayed in original colour: windsor blue, in December 2006. There as a little bubbling around the outside of the filler cap - but i will get this sorted soon. Other than that the paint work is immaculate. Hope you like the pics...

Welcome

Ok, here's my oak green 16V. I love this car to bits. We had the club 'stand' at Ultimates, just across from Newport Edition. We are trying to get a club 'yacht banner' sorted for GTI International, some come along and say 'hi'. The bus is currently getting fixed...

Ok, here is my Golf GTI Campaign TSR conversion - i love this car!!! Ok, i've spent well over 3k on purchase plus getting her pretty much mint, but sadly she's for sale offers 2.2k :x

Really want to get into the G40 scene, and polo scene in general. Anyone know what other mods to go for other than eaton for more permormance? How much more bhp for the 4-2-1 manifold?

Welcome to the club, very good way to start you Polo ownership with a G40 :-D

Always wanted a G40 so natural choice :D They're so much fun to drive. So when's the clubs national meet and where? I'd like to go to the next meet in Taunton also.

Oh yeah, looks like the plastic arch covers are missing, but they're still on and same colour as car; very strange but i recon it looks good. Managed to get a new front and rear badge. Thinking about going back to the original grille and trim, but quite like it like it is.
