All young valver owners! I need your help

Featured Replies

I'm going to be 19 in a few months and need to get my car insured in my name come renewal time.

problem atm is that my mum doesnt want me to mod it in anyway shape or form and i aint going to argue just instead get it all in my own name so she no longer has any say in what i do with it.

I'll have been a named driver for 2 years but not have got any NCB.

so obviously 19yro with gr.10 and no NCB = me gettin dry bummed by mr.insurance.

i need an idea of what people are payin atm for the same car and the same age as me.

everyone i have had quotes off seem to be approx 2300+ which is a lot of a hike compared to the 1200 iv paid this yr.

Again it has to be in my own name unfortunatly, i just hope someone can help as it may end up me selling the car

www.gocompare.com

When i was 20 with no noclaims it cost £700, fully comp. Thats with elephant on there 10 months bonus thingy, hopefully be <£600, now I'm 21 with fingers crossed 1 years ncb.

Thats standard though...

I'm thinking about tesco cos in my mums name they quoted me 650 so its worth a shot to see how much they can screw me over 4 on my own policy

gocompare were pretty useless, hardly anyone would touch me cos it was going to be modified

Brentacre ;)

Well worth a try!

Ye i was thinking about brentacre but wasnt 100% on how they would be with me being young, and wasnt sure what they'd be like, do you know if they'd offer a further discount as I'm soon to be doing a advanced drivers course with the army which should lower insurance a bit more.
