I think there was a study commissioned a while ago, and it said that people are willing to pay for petrol upto 2 pounds a litre, and then you will see people switching to other methods of transport.

There's going to be a lot of business for lorries bringing fuel over from Europe and selling round the back of supermarkets now.

Just out of interest, do you need to refine the oil of filter it in any kind of way before you can use it?

The fresh out the bottle veg. oil is fine as long as it's warmed up for use neat, or mixed with at least 20% pump diesel in the summer.

Used chip oil needs a bit of filtering & methoxylation to remove impurities (glycerol & water) but in the end you get 'biodiesel' as opposed to just veg. oil.

Those were the days!! I Filled mine up last night and paid £1.10 a litre!! That was out in the countryside though.

when i last filled up last weekend it was 1.01p a litre so not too bad but is still more than id like to pay may hav 2 buy a diesal

about 50% of the price of fuel is tax, and now the government has this 'green' money cow they will be screwing us out of more and more cash though 'green' taxes.

the more people that can't afford to drive a car the better it is for the government, the less cars on the road the greener it makes them look. they don't take into account that some people need to use cars to get to work and public transport is a shit hole. its ok for the mp's as they all have a second home close to the office, it just goes to show how out of touch with reality they are. wheres Guy Fawks when you need him?
