When I sold the speaker pods I made a couple of months ago, I had loads of people wanting them. As the ‘group buy’ fell through, and there were LOTS of people interested in them I am offering the following custom made ones.

I've made a few sets now, so I know what I'm doing! Look at the photos below.

MK3 pods will require you to send me your door pockets, the only way to make MK3 pods work properly means joining it into the end of the pocket. I will get pictures of these up shortly

Prices for MK2s would be £50 for the ‘yellow finish’ ones and around £60 for those in the other pictures as they are more complicated to make!

MK3s are £60 due to the extra work and materials needed.

Postage, which will be £10.

If this seems steep; a pair of pods take over 2 days, pretty solid work, plus materials, and are only a few quid more than the ‘GB’ was going to be.

I can do most finishes; lacquered would be flatted back and machine polished; special finishes will obviously cost a little more (please ask)!

I could integrate them into mk2/3 pockets too without too much hassle!

i might be interested in some aswell. I've got some spare door pockets for a mk3 you could use aswell if you want to use them as a temmplate. what size speakers would they be for? might be a bit more than the gb but much better than 220 for audioscape pods!

reckon you could nock up a pair for a mk1 golf?

the pods will be custom made, so i can do them for any speakers, what i will need though if you to measure the outer diameter of the grilles and the diameter of the basket, so that the pods will fit them perfectly...

Grant - to do mk3 pods i will need the door, only to measure up and to make a template from, only for the first set tho! If you want them intergreated into the door pockets i will need them too.

Tractorboy - golf doors will be no problem, but again i will need one of them to take a template from. my mate is at uni in guilford so he could collect it if that works for you?

I will be able to do it with vinyl, it will cost a bit more tho, i could do leather or suede for obviously for a premium!

Are they enclosed? i.e. do they have a backs?

What are the materials used? is the flat bit a peice of ply?

Will made me a set of these a few weeks back! Haven't had a chance to take any pics yet (well I have but I'm just lazy :p) Pretty easy to put on as well took me a couple of hours and they look the tits! Will deffo get the pics up ASAP!

the bottom ones are different from the to ones, because of the bigger angle, they take longer to make and are a bit more expensive

each pair will be the same tho!

So you can build them into MK3 polo door pockets too?

The window winder arm getting in the way isn't a problem either has i have elec ones :p
