Where can i order the euro style number plates from? and how much are they roughly?

If you go to shows, there's normally a stand there that does them (euro car plates were at UD today)

Quite a few sell on ebay too, can be anywhere from £20 to £35

as skatty said, go for europl8 on ebay, the ones iv seen were 18.50 then 3.50 delivers but stil 21.50 aint bad at all (and they also reflective so shouldnt be too much of a probs with the police)

Tin pressed plates are illegal.

The level of reflectivity must conform to the British Standard, some tin pressed plates are too reflective, others not enough.

Having a D Band on a UK car is illegal.

Using any font that is non conforming to the British Standard is illegal.

Displaying anything on the numberplate in order to change the identity of the vehicle is illegal.

Number plates now must be printed with the supplier's details also printed on the face of the plate.

If you bothered to read what the guy said rather than going all mr straight edge you'll see he said "shouldnt be too much of a problem" not implying anything saying they were legal.

It is more the point that comments like that can lead people to believe that these plates are fine to use when they're not.

It is duff information regardless of the shouldn't be of which is a highly stressed point on this forum.

The police will see the illegality of non conforming plates regardless of the reflectivity of the surface. Therfore you will have problems with the police.

Not everyone knows these plates are illegal on UK cars, especially to the point that you can get a £1,000 fine.

Because there are too many threads appearing on this forum all whinging and whining about the Police becuase they've been pulled over for having illegal items on their cars.

The comments such as "can't they go and catch some real criminals" really annoys me, becuase as petty as the crime is, it is still a crime and IMO the police have done a good job in doing so.

Fair enough if she wants them, or anyone else for that matter. They do look good and can make a car look that little bit more individual at a show.

However only I have mentioned that they are illegal and you can get a large fine for having them. Someone said that by buying reflective plates, you "shouldn't" recieve unwanted police attention, that is incorrect. How does anyone know what other people know? Someone might read that and think that they're perfectly legal. Interpretation of posts is absolutely crucial.

She's bought a very nice looking car, it stands out, it's different. The police will be interested enough as it is and these plates will just give them an excuse to pull her over.

Preventative procedures are the best cure for any problem.

This topic has just furthered my belief in the Club Polo Flock.

I dont, I know what your saying is true and factual, but the facts are that people will make there own desision... these plates are blatently ilegal and people who run them and think there not are probobly as thick as soup.

Some people run these regardless of the risks and all that guy said was these are pressed and reflective... still illegal but the fact that they conform maybe slightly more might make the cops more leniant.

This aint no crime of the century or swapping your numberplate with a different car...

To do with the flock thing... you'll neve be happy... the clubs called "club polo" how many people do you think search this into google to find a polo club... 1000s hence a massive membership and always an influx of new people... either write your own stickies with your top ten facts or help people rather than moaning at the same old shit comming up... its like this on every forum... new people ask dumb questions because they dont know much and people who have been around too long like to moan like they are some elitist.

We all know there illegal..anything that isnt brought from the dvla or a dvla certified plate producer is illegal, you are not even meant to have the plates with the slogan along the bottom or a picture to the left..at the end of the day i agree with alx..pointless discussion..

I don't think it was a dumb question.

I don't think it is stupid to not know the ins and outs of what is illegal and what is not, So many people use these plates, who's to know the difference if they're illegal or not.

The point is, hardly anyone ever mentions the illegality of anything, then people moan about it on here as if they've been singled out needlessly.

My thoughts on the flock isn't against the pressed plates, it is against the rejection of the difference of oppinion.

To voice an oppinion on this forum that contradicts the oppinions of the masses seems to be against the religion of Club Polo.
