haven't posted on here for a good while but looking at getting back to my dubs and getting either a polo or lupo gti. i crap at making decisions. and have got myself a little dilema... anway i use to drive this:

so i bought this, wich i have now turned into a rally car as it cost to much to run as a daily driver. and got myself another car.

and yes that is tyre smoke got a bit to enthusiastic on the throttle and due to the crappy 25% lockup beemer lsd it does that. got a 70% lockup one now though

and i now drive a bog standard one of these it was so cheap that i couldnt turn it down and i needed something to drive to work since converting the bmw.

now the decision i need to make is do i keep the fiesta for a year and get a mk4 golf r32, or do i buy the polo or lupo gti slam it on some bbs rm's, and use the rest of the money to make my beemer stupidly fast. i just cant make the decision and frankly its driving me crazy. any opinions on what you would do?

I own a Polo GTI and think the Lupo is great but I think you should keep the Fiesta. It's a great little drivers car, more so than the Polo/Lupo even though it is a little slower, and it looks great. I would want to keep the beemer though, it looks mint

I would keep the Fiesta.

They're good cars and not too slow really, they're nice inside and offer a good spec in comfort, plus you have that BMW for fun rally days ect.

I think that if you were to get the Lupo or Polo, you are just stepping sideways at a large expense, I think you will regret this as the thought will always be there that you could have had an R32. By waiting a year for the R32m I think you will get the car you really want.

keep the fez! a mate of mine had one and it was a great car, very reliable too, just give it a similar styling treatment to your old polo

I'd keep the fiesta. You have an un-practical weekend/rally car and reliable, fun to drive, practical, cheap daily. So you have the balance. Keep the fiesta standard and then any extra money you have you can put it towards the BM or save towards the R32. But I'm not sure a R32 will be any cheaper to run than your BM is....

what makes you say that? personally i think its a good car, just makes me feel like a chav when i drive it, which is why i was thinking of gettin a polo or lupo wich will have cheap running costs. and then just go all out on my bmw instead of getting the r32. I'm 18 atm so it would probably be a more sensible option.

Personally I don't think the newer Fiesta's are chavy at all.

I see one everyday, it's a standard 16V which looks rude as it is, quicker than most of the Polo's available for the same price and cheap to run, reliable and comfy.

My friend has a Ford KA which is also very nice, she has one of the top spec models with leather seats and what nots. Her brother has the top of the range Fiesta of that model and that also is a very nice car.

Another option you could consider, keep the Fiesta and spend some money on the BMW. This is what I would do.

By keeping the Fiesta everyday runing costs will be low, you'll have more money put aside for either second car, be it the road replacement R32 or a monster rally car.

R32 hands down lol

like small vws meself so if i didnt have the 6n id go for the lupo gti.

depends on what space u need in the car.. insurance.. cost of fuel etc.

lol. Na it was bitten by a rascal van, damage is worse than it looks in the pic, riped the whole inner wing back shell is twisted and has nice ripple in the roof.

back on topic, mate your bm looks mint, is it the 325is? tbh honest tho mate i'm sure an R32 would be more expensive to run than the bm, and if your buying a polo GTI put a side money for replacement gearboxes as this seems to be a masive problem for some GTI's.

if i were you i'd put up with the fiesta and make the E30 in to a proper race slag :-D

I have a soft spot for the Mk5 Fiesta, because its my favourite of all of them and it was sort of my first car too. More reliable than the Polo, and although they rust pretty badly, all the rubber parts don't corrode like on VW's

haha some of the jokes I've heard recently about jersey have been absolute crackers, so sick but so funny.

yeah its a 325is or sport which ever you want to call it. an r32 will probably be a bit better on fuel due to the fuel injection on the bmw being very primative compared to the r32. i do most of the servicing on my cars myself, i pay to have things like clutches and cambelts done so they are recorded in the service history and send them in every 10k miles for a service. and then do the oils, filters, brakes ect myself every 6 months or so. so garage bills wont be to different.

i know all about polo gearboxes i had 3 of them in my 16v. untill i figured out how to drive it without killing the gearbox and the one when i crashed it had been in there 8 months and was still sound after the crash.

the e30 is going to become a race slag no mater what but getting not getting the r32 means things like alloy m3 front wishbones instead of steel ones. and almunium custom made trailing arms instead of steel ones. carbon door cards rather than standard door cards. none of wich are really going to me much faster but they look nice :-D . my fiesta could do with a clutch soon as its biteing high and will need a cambelt soon, so thats extra money that could go towards a polo or loop. and i should easily be able to see a big profit from the sale of my fiesta. think I'm going to sack the r32 off get myself a little dub makes more sense to go for something thats nice, but economical and that i will be happy with for a couple of years. and the £1800 insurance bill might get a bit boring after 6 months when the novelty has worn off.

cheers, i picked them cause they were different to the normal euro wheel. and I've allway been a fan or motorsport wheels. and yep there 16x7 you get a little stretch on them with a 195/40 t1r. i use to drive quite hard so didnt fancy my tyres poping off.

yeh they can rust quite badly. but in jersey were lucky not to need salt on the roads in the winter etc so our cars dont tend to rust as bad. i haven't actually found any on mine yet fingers crossed. by corrode do you mean preish? my wishbone bushes were shot when i got my polo. powerflex bushes sorted that out though.

You can also find the alloy ones on E30 tourings as well!!

yep was looking at them cheaper too, but it turns out m3 ones have stronger ball joints wich is quite critical on a race car because if one fails you on trouble. seen it happen on a mini in our local rally. was quite entertaining to watch

Same. I like the zetec s. Just a shame a lot of them are chavved up, but they have lots of potential for subtle modifying!
