i sanded all the paint and primer off till it was bare metal but it only rusted in patches? and i was going for a whole rusted bonnet. I'm gonna take it off and rust the whole thing up or maybe go for chalkboard.

when you do it make sure you use a good corse sand paper, say aluminium oxide paper about 80grit, the more little scratches in the bare metal the better and will rust a lot better, was going to do mine before i put the new bonnet on but ran out of paper and not been to get any more yet lol

thats what i used, 40 to 80 oxide paper

but it came to steel but didnt rust, i didnt gt it but i guess another go and itll be ok.

I've got clear indicators to go on all round but i really dont know.

I'm going for a kinda tatty look now been as its full of dents and scratches and i cba to sort them out. Its going to look like a bit of a work slag anyway because of the roofrack and the towbar :p

I'm going with satin black on my bonnet, Still need to find 1 to paint tho as its got silly amounts of dents in.

Got the slats done for that roofrack yet? i was thinking about it today but got a million and 1 other things to do i dont know where to start.

Getting off here would be a good place i supose :p

ent got round to it yet, got the rack though, might go to b&q this weekend fo some wood to do it

Just noticed your rear bumper hangs down about half an inch, why is that? I've seen lots of mk3s around me with the bumper hanging low, but mine sits pretty tight up? If you want to see mine go to my profile and check my blog, theres a couple of photoshops done out of boredom too. You could sand off that rust and matt black the bonnet with a big iron cross painted on one of the corners at an angle!! Although it's probably been done! I like your car, wanna see this roof rack soon too!!

I'm intending to make mine mint at the minute but in a few years strip it out and drop in a 1.6 lol. Whenever I do that I want a colour coded fibreglass bootlid and a gloss black fibreglass bonnet with silver pins, a rollcage and yellow tinted headlamps/fogs and GT arches, but that'll be in a few years when it's not my daily (after my driving test soon)...

i took the whole exhaust off, plus bumper and ripped my rear valance, that why it hangs haha,

going to scrappy to get another this week.

and need the rear valance welded up.

I'm gonna sand the whole bonnet down and decide weather to chalk it or rust it all. then spraypaint a stencil on it somewhere.

Take your time getting all that primer off the bonnet man ..

Wire brush it then sand it and sand it and sand it ..

the alloys are getting a makeover as soon as i get some steelies to go on for now.

get them matching eachother more. I'm gonna steal the ratty mk2 's colour on his steels or the lips of my rims with black centres, so they should match the bonnet nicely, (I'm a thief )

which is gonna get fully rusted i thinks, and chalkboard the roof as soon as this stupid wind and weather gets better.

if anyone could photoshop me a rusty dull matt orange colour on the polished bit of my rims front and back would be great.

haha, yer I just wanted the most ridiculous colour I could find, but now I really love the shock green. -The tornado pink paintwork gave me the excuse to do it!

Will get pics across to you when it's done, hopefully gonna make a start on the plans over the easter holiday. Where did you pick up a roof rack and for how much? I've been told to go to car boot sales...?
