Gaz is right, my mk2 is a 1989/G plate and its German built.

Personally, I couldn't give two shits about Wolfsburg or VW German heritage. My car has "normal" door pins, window winder handles and gearknob. I can lock/unlock my doors, wind my windows up and down and change gear perfectly well without some silly badged items, so why change them for something that costs more and only does the same job?

Its not like you really look at door pins and gearknobs etc is it?

The only good thing about the German built Polo's is they don't rust as badly as the Spanish built ones.

Its called PERSONAL taste, not everyone is the same, hence why people buy shiny winders n shit because THEY like them.

Yeah, and spinners, big body kits, 4" exhaust pipes, "chequer plate" floor mats etc.

All down to PERSONAL taste as you say. Still a waste of time though!

some peugeots were made in england there still french cars n called french piles of s**t

the mk1 & mk2 golf are the only 2 true cars that are genuine wolfburg but at the end of the day it really is the vw roundel that makes the car,think about it the mini was always british but it is made in germany now by bmw & the best thing about it is all mini drivers are spittin feathers now with "TRUE BRIT NO GERMAN SHIT" stickers in their cars...really makes me laugh...

I got some nice chome window winders for mine because the original ones are really flimsy on the early mk2s.

In keeping with the style of the car I think. :) My door pins are original though.

As for the wolfdburg steering wheel. I think I'm ok. (mine's an 83 on a Y so definately 100% wolfsburg )

i do like the wolfsburg wheels, think i need some door pins as i havnt got any, i heard it makes the car easier to break into, is this tru?
